Hi, I have been flying heli's for 18 months now. After 10 years as a plank flier i get a real buzz out of the heli's. I have four heli's now, X-cell 30 Raptor 30, Shuttle 30, and Eco8 new to the fleet. I am made up with them all. No-one in are area flys heli's or if they do only hover. I set up heli's for all the newbies at are club, as i am the only one that can do basic 3d, Loops roll ect. My question then!!!!!
As i learned on my own i found that the helis i fly, fly better with a higher head speed than recommended by the manufactures. The first heli i got was the Shuttle, it flew like a pig with so much slop in the head. The book recommended a head speed of 1450rpm. I now fly all my helis except the Eco 8 at 1800rpm. They seem to fly and respond perfectly.
All the helis i set up run between 1600 and 1800rpm and to me seem great. Why do the manufactures recommend so slow head speeds when the heli's don't fly as well that way.
All the 30 size heli i own have OS 32 engines with pipes. I believe they are the best in heli's.
Your thought would be appreciated.
