Default New with Questions........

Hello Everyone. Just getting into Heli and aquired a mostly new Ikarus Eco 8. Would like to eventually do 3d, ie flips inverted...stuff like that. With so much info out there I had a few basic questions to help aim me in what to look at.

I've always like the look of muti-bladed helios. The first time I saw a 5 bladed version was on mythbusters and loved it. What are the practal reasons for haveing 4 or 5 blades? Expecially with the prospect of 3d in the future? Also, If the 5 blade is the way I want to go, What if any headaches am I going to encounter flying a flybarless 5 blade?

My last big question is Radios. The Eco has Hitech equipment on it now, but the owner is keeping it. Which is fine. Personally, I've aways loved Futaba's equipment. Any problem using them for heli's? Was looking at the 6-channel 2.4 ghz Fasst system. Anyone see any problem with this?

In the near future, I'll post anymore General question hear, instead of making seperate threads. Thanks!!

multi blade heads are mainly used in scale, you loose 50 points a round for having a flybar head. They also seem to work best with a flybarless system like Skookum SK360, VBar, or Helicommand and the like.

3D guys fly 2 blades w/ a flybar or two blades with a flybarless system.

The only advantage of a multiblade head is it looks cool. Its expensive and a good bit of work and tinkering getting it flying good.

If you're looking at nitro helis don't get less than a 7 channel radio, among other limitations the 6EX 2.4 (a nice little radio, I have one) lacks sub trims and you'll want a governor channel at some point and for that you'll need 7. The 7C 2.4 and DX7 are both nice radios.
