hey guys have a quick question i have an hdx 500 its basically a t-rex500 airframe how much trouble would i be going through to make it nitro the air frames are simular arnt they thanks for all input

it would be a pain in the ass. you'll end up spending as much as you would getting a t-rex 600 or a caliber 50. They can be had for 300.

There is a guy on these forums that put an os18 into his trex 500 and he has a few pics and vids, it looks good. It will probably cost a bit to do but I guess if you want somthing that size with a nitro, doing a convertion is what you may have to do, unless align come out with a 500N

You'll get off cheaper that way. For going nitro to electric, all you have to get is battery, motor, and esc. For going electric to nitro, you gotta have engine, tank, rx battery, extra servo for throttle, fan, clutch/bell, and it's all kind of an expensive PITA to get together if you don't have a bunch of it already. Yeah, it can be done, but your probably better off buying one instead of converting one.
