Hi guys this is my first time to this board......
I am installing a head speed governor to my Ergo 60 but I need to get the head speed RPMs. I read about setting up a bike computer pick-up to the main grear and using a wheel size of 1667mm. Take this speed x10 and this is the RPMs..
Has anyone of you ever had luck doing this???? And being that the magnets (3) for the governor will be mounted on the main gear, any ideas on where to mount the magnet for the computer pick-up???

sound like a helimax or graupner speed govenor.
i set my speed with a tachmeter (unforunatly not cheap, but easy)
mounting: (i do not know about helimax) but graupner magnets are mounted at the main shaft, with a little collet, real easy, simple and fast.
i asume helimax is the same.
Ergoman, give more specs

It is a Heli-Max. There are three tiny magnets that mount to the main gear with silicone. I need the tach to set the goverenor up to the right head speeds.

Instructions call for either silicone or epoxy or CA. It calls for three 3/16 holes to be drilled in the main gear, (120 degrees from each other), for the magnets to set in....

whats the diameter of the shaft? if it is 10mm you can get a mount from graupner (4448.104 Sensor mount for governor $29.62). safer, easier and 100% 120 degrees !

http://www.v-eastonline.com has them here in the states. i do not guarantee (see disclaimer below) that it will work with your heli and magnets! but i am pretty certain it will. magnet size 5mm dia/ 1mm thick. mount 20mm overall dia / 6mm thick.
hope that helps
