I am getting my Ergo 30 ready to fly after 3 years of not flying. When I am checking rotor blade pitch with the radio on and swashplate level shouldn't the flybar go level also or do i need to keep it level with something wedged into head?

The flybar does not need to be level, it just makes it a little easier when doing it.
By the way, JR flybars are trash and my experience is they can be dangerous.
I have broken 2 in flight and another when I bumped it - it was ready to break.
Throw yours away and get an Excel flybar.
I refuse to use JR's and I have 2 Vigor 60's.
