Airline Travel w/Helis
I was wondering... how do you guys travel on airlines with helis? I have an aluminum box, but I don't think it qualifies as carry on...
I cannot imagine what those airline gorillas would do to it if I checked it. Those Samsonite gorillas are really rough on luggage.
450 Heli - yes it is important

I have carried my Align 450 Case on the plane several times. But, you don't mention what size heli you are talking about. It's rather important to the discussion, ya think?

RE: Airline Travel w/Helis
I just traveled with my Axe CPv3 about a month ago. I kept it in the origal paper box with styrofoam inserts and checked it in. If you have lithium batteries, you must carry them on. The TSA were pretty thorough with the lipos, as they look strangely similar to blocks of C4. They removed them from the bag, swabbed the inside of the bag to make sure the lipos weren't explosives, and I was on my way. On the way back they didn't even bother the lipos and spent more time on my laptop!?
Here is the link to the TSA website regarding lipos:[link=http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/batteries.shtm]http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/batteries.shtm[/link]
You may have a little rougher time, given the attempted pants-bombing in Detroit.
P.S. make sure you cover the charging and discharging leads with electrical tape.
