Wow, The Schluter HeliBoy - now that brings back memories.

What is your budget?

I am asuming you do not have a radio or gyro?

Would you still be looking at a possible nitro bird?

As the bigger the better for stability in any era.

But comparing different eras, my Century 30 nitro Hawk Pro flies a lot better then even my 60 sized Schluter Champion did.

You kinda need to set yourself a budget. Will it be $1000 or $2000.

And you need to deside if you want nitro or electric.

I fly nitro helis myself. I get almost 10min flights on a 50 size. You don't see that with electrics.

Just remember bigger is better (more stable).

If you are looking for a nice stable electric that is relatively inexpensive to build, you might want to check out a Gaui Hurricane 550.

well I would like to stay within 500.00 if possible and with one no bigger than 450 size. ive looked at the hurricane and it looks nice I want to stay with electric also. I like the all metal head but I dont know it it makes a diffrence. I like the nexus i had at one time over the rapter and the concept. but like i said I would like to stay with electric thanks a bunch

That is not necessarily true, as it depends on a number of things. I set my Swift 16 (a large 30 nitro sized electric heli that uses 520mm to 560mm blades) up for training a friend last summer, and using a 1500 head speed and a 4S/5000 battery pack I easily got 10 minute flights.

I fly electrics, nitros and gassers and they all have advantages and disadvantages.

One big advantage with the bigger electric, like the Century Swift 16, is that it has the same stability and maneuverability of the bigger nitro helis, but does not need one to learn how to properly tune needle valves or how to properly set throttle curves (if one does not want to spent the extra money and installation time for a governor). This makes life a lot less frustaring for them.

As for the other points you mentioned, I agree 100%.
