Default VIBRATION! GRRRRR!!!!!

I had a crash, bent the flybar, replaced it.... tok apart the whole rotor head, no bent parts. The only thing that was rubbing was a ball link from the flybar controller, doesnt look like the linkage is bent though. WHY!!!! I recently replaced a main gear thats warped pretty bad. Other than that i dont know. AT low idle you can see a vibration in the head.i stripped everything sown to the main rotor shaft. Its fine too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKSNgBFVqeo

Oh the main shaft, got it. I never heard it called the spindle before. Anyway i found it last night. I already had a spare, its bent pretty good, i cant get the old screw out though, so now i have to replace the whole rotorhead cause i dont have screws for it. sucks.

There is a main shaft, and there is a spindle. The Spindle is the shaft that links the two blade grips together. It is mounted perpendicular to the main shaft.

Glad you found the bent part.

In addition to what everyone else mentioned, whenever you tear down the main rotor assembly make sure you check for any of the following:

DAMAGEDROTORBLADES
<ul>[*]cracks[*]splintered areas[*]dents[*]torn wrapping/ covering (on the wodden blades)[*]blade warpage
BLADEBALANCE
<ul>[*]balance ofblade to blade[*]balance of blades together mounted onto spindle[*]missing or moved balancing tape[*]mounting the sameblade to the samegrip as they were each individually balanced to
SPINDLEBALANCE
<ul>[*]check for equal number of spindle shims to each side of the center hub[*]make sure spindle assembly is thoroughly tightend down after replacing the spindle shaft
MISCELLANEOUS
<ul>[*]pitch track
Any one of these or any in combination will more than likely cause some kind of vibration. The one that some folks may not think could cause vibrations fall under the DAMAGEDROTORBLADES header Ihave above. Particularly cracks, dents, splintering or wrapping tears, if located on or around the leading edge ofa blade, can disrupt the smooth flow of air under and over the blade. This can induce an unwanted vibration and or occilation of the blades OR worse disrupt the lift the blades can potentially individually or collectively generate.

In addition, doing quick "in-the-field" fixing (e.g. taping, glueing or adding filler) ofthese direct kinds of damage to a bladecan also often affect the overall BLADEBALANCE which will then lead to induced unexpected vibrations.

Ghostrider3:

What is your headspeed? If you are sure all the parts are good then it is either your headspeed or paddle misalingment. I can't think of anything else right now. Maybe dampeners need lubrication but I know very little about the 700.
