Wondered what experience people had with this gyro...
Im getting some tail problems on a heli that I cant seem to correct through the gyro and mechanical geometry seems good.
Hold in heading hold and slowly rotates in normal mode (which is my preferred mode).
I can use the tail trim to correct buts it never spot on for different speeds and the auto trim adjust feature of the gyro is not correcting the problem.
Any ideas?
Ive used the CSM 400 in the past and for what it is it works fine... never had any trouble really... apparently not the same withe the 420... unless its something else, but like I say the geometry on the tail linkage is sound.

i'm also having exactly the same problem with my sl420,no matter what i tried,i couldn't get the gyro trim feature to work,it kept on pirrouetting every time i switched it to normal mode.the only way i got round it was to use a flight mode switch for gyro switching{sanwa rd6000 sport radio}and then use the radio's trim memory feature to set a different rudder trim every time you flick into normal mode via the flight mode switch.the heli will then stay in perfect trim in both gyro modes because the trim changes as you change modes.i'm not sure if you would be able to do this with other radio's though.if there is any body out there that knows the correct way to deal with this problem then please let me know!

I have the same gyro in a rap 30 v2.
Cant help you though as I have not had any probs at all.
Mine was setup as per the idiots guide that came with it and haven't touched it since.
Not much help I know.

hello,
I got this gyro in my Rappy 30 v2, and had the same problem. what i did was get it solid in non-HH mode, then figured out how much trim was there and worked that out with the tail linkage, then set the trims on the Tx to their centre (needed for HH, it requires the precise centre pulse (1.5000ms i believe)) to work correctly. It did seem sensitive though, but it is rock solid now. not used any other gyro's so cannot say if that was right or not, but it is well sorted now!
Hope that helps.
