How do you do a pirouetting loop ?
How do you do a pirouetting loop, what are the stick movements, any pointers?

How do you do a pirouetting loop ?
pointers- try it very high in the air.

Boy that should help  LOL

How do you do a pirouetting loop ?
This will really help too:
YOU hold the rudder stick one way while moving the pitch. Then you move the other stick all kind of ways, but mostly up and down. HOW'S THAT???? Do you get it now??? Kirk |
How do you do a pirouetting loop ?
This is where subscribing to heli magazines comes in handy. Model Heli World( the english mag) has been running a series of articles on advanced(for me) 3D maneuvers. Each article covers one maneuver. the piro.. flips were covered last year I think. Russ deaken(sp?) writes the articles with excellent graphics and in the case of the piro. flips gives diagrams of the stick movements involved. I believe that he called the stick movement "stirring the pudding" for the piro flips. I am too lazy right now( today was leg day at the gym) to get up and find the particular month/year. But I'll find it tomorrow.
Back issues are available at a very good price. www.traplet.com ( I think) Vince D |

I subscribe to that mag but I don't remember that article , I will look though. I an do a piro flip and just wanted to know how to incorporate the loop. I know the idea behind it I was just looking for some pointers. Thanks

How do you do a pirouetting loop ?
Originally posted by Furyflyer2 I guess no one here can do them :( Paul, I know Pete Panos and Scott Morgan have "G2" files for your sim on how the do the maneuver. Also, I'd think Todd Bennett should take a minute to email you back on the subject, too. Pete |

Here is a video found and a web site for 3-D maneuvers

Hell !
I don't even know what you guys talking about.. are these same as Sideway loops (just curious..) . Hey Paul .. was it the one you were trying last time with fury..? ( that scary flip flop maneuver...)

COOL ..
Would love to check it out (though I am million miles from it ) that Flash Video was cool on Piro loop ..anything like that on Sideways loop or other 3D s..?

I am sort of new to 3D, but how do you do a sideways loop? I can do a forward loop and a backward loop but haven't tried sideway loop. Anyone got any pointers to help with it?

Anyone got any pointers to help with it? David Very funny :D from your profile I think you know how to do it.. but here goes 1st you need to be able to fly sideways and 90 deg to the flight path. Next as with a normal loop enter level and (depending on direction) move the ail to left or right and apply collective as the heli reaches inverted move col to a neg +/- 3 deg as you follow over the back side start to add collective til you end up level . Pointers , don't apply large movement to ail ,you may need to correct the pitch through out the loop. :D |
How do you do a pirouetting loop ?
Thanks that sounds simple enough. But I never use 0 collective on the forward or backwards loop. Why do you have to use it on the sideways loop as it goes over the top?

Wouldn't a sideways loop be called a ROLL? or more accurately a barrel roll.

Originally posted by duelist Wouldn't a sideways loop be called a ROLL? or more accurately a barrel roll. No, a roll is about center of the helicopters axis a sideways loop is about center of the maneuver. I does look like a "roll" but it's a loop only sideways. Yes the model is rolling in a sense but not axially. |

I know how to do all of the loops and stuff, and rolls and stuff, but how do you keep the helicopter still in a hover?

OK all kidding aside. To do any travelling maneuver you use collective. Start sideways, add some rolling cyclic and lots of collective. Hold negative through the top, and come back to half stick to finish the bottom. Those are the major movements. In mine, there are another 5 or 6 stick corrections made in the maneuver.
Giving this explanation also sounds like" to hover in one spot, you simply hold the stick in one spot." This is why you get some funny responsed to a seemingly simple question. Burn fuel. It will come Good luck, Paul Soha |
..oops !
I am lost again
Let me find some Newbies.. :D :D :D :D |
