caliber-airtronics super 6000. getting slight drifting in hover,not [waggin] just drifting. how can i stop this???

what gyro/servo/tail blades?
is the linkage smooth and slop free, or does it drag or flex?
is yer motor adjusted properly, out of tune will make the tail move in increments

guess i forgot to mention that i have a 401w\servo set up.everything is stock caliber.

did you do a mechanical adjustement to the rudder pushrod to stop any drifting in normal/rate mode?
you can use a small amount of trim/subtrim to get the last bit out if a 1/2 turn is too much, you do have to re center the gyro with the on/off of hh 3 times quickly after adding any trim. other than that, just always turn on the gyro in hh mode.

no im a newbie and can really just hover wouldnt attemp to fly [no-hh] it is pretty steady in hover and just kinda wonders of staright and a quik jab at the stick brings it back maybe its me and thats just the norm??

don't be afraid to try normal
once ya get the mech adjusted so it is centered at stick nutral, it is hard to tell ya arn't in hh, unless it is really gusty.

You might want to have T-gear on when you do it if you've never tried to fly a heli that was out of trim. I tiped my raptor over a week ago when I was setting up my 401/9253 with the same problem and I switched from HH to normal mode 3 times fast while hovering 8 feet up<lol, oops that's also the command to RESET the servo center position>.

Found out when I did my tear down I put my tail rotor blade grips on backwards which gave it LOTS of left and a little bit of right, it also made it drift.

Oh yes, make sure you never adjust anything on a heli unless it's a good 100 feet away from you!


Worst case your heli will want to yaw left or right a lot in normal mode. You just have to trm it out, find the mechanical position for a stable hover by using your trim then set it up so that with no trim it will hover in normal mode without any yawing. You get most of the rudder trim set by getting light on the skids, then final adjustments are in the air.
