motor / ESC timing
Need some advise on timing, I think....
I have a brushless motor that the specs tell me should draw 20A and produce 200W. This motor is installed on a HK 250, with a 40A ESC. during testing I have placed my Watt's up meter and found something else. Under 1/2 throttle is am drawing 56A, and developing 540w, and the motor and ESC is HOT! The spec's on the motor are: Turgeny E500, 6T, 4000Kv, with 11 tooth pinion I have checked all rotos for binding and have found NO defects in the Heli. The ESC is set up for the following: break off Li PO battery cut off mode - cut/off start mode - super soft timing - high Anyone got any suggestions? Would timing issues cause over heating and high current draw? Larry |
RE: motor / ESC timing
Check the pinion gear to main drive gear clearance? The motor will draw excess current if they are too tight.
