Yeah BABY. He better heep it up. He will show that navy some 3D. How about hovering. Inverted over the deck would have been better.

Pilot: Oh crap ... I dropped my beer.
Co-Pilot: I see it. Can you yaw right just a tad more.
Pilot: Sure thing!
Co-Pilot: OK ... I got it now. Might wanna wait a while before you open that.

Unfortunately I have a real hard time believing that that picture is real. First of all if I was on that carrier and a plane capable of flying at super-sonic speeds was 5 feet in front of me I'd at least have the sense to turn away if not duck, all of these people seem to be resuming normal operations. Second of all I think there would be a good chance the Air Force would immediately court marshall you for putting an expensive plane, an expensive aircraft carrier, and hundreds of lives aboard that aircraft carrier in danger because you are stupid. Also if you look at the plane it seems to be heading inward toward the aircraft carrier at a small angle, but enough of an angle that if he maintained that heading he'd be missing about 20% of his right wing, and would almost certainly crash into the ship.

It may be real... looks like he was actually flying over the WATER next to the carrier... Probably at least 100 feet away from the deck...
size of the plane, combined with limited carrier surface in picture just making it look closer than it was (probably).
If he was REALLY OVER the carrier, at time of picture, he'd already have lost at least 1/4 of bottom wing.

I didn't say he was over the carrier, but look at the plane real close in relation with the edge of the carrier deck and it looks like he is pointed inwards at somewhere around 10-20 degrees. The picture is taken with about 25% of the ship left to fly by and he appears to be about 50 yards at the most from the deck, there is a good chance he would have either hit the deck, or come very close to hitting the deck. Also look at the vertical stabalizers on the plane, and most importantly the rudders, there does not appear to be any left rudder which would be the only thing that would hold the plane in the air. And though it is just based upon a slight look it looks like the pilot is giving it up elevator which would slam the plane right into the side of the ship. I think that whoever did the pic took a picture of the jet turning and threw it next to an aircraft carrier with very careful layering and editing. Of course I have no way to prove that it is a fake, but that is my first notion by looking at it.

I remember a video I found on the Internet (can't remember where...), where we could see a F14 flying supersonic (i remember sonic wave clouds) only a few feet away from the deck of the carrier. The video was damn real, it was some kind of airshow I think.
That's why I wouldn't be surprised If it was not fake. All the people on the deck seem to be all looking at the same thing, with a cameraman pointing its object towards the plane....
As far as the ground crew is concerned, these are not trannies, they are used to that kind of HOT sensations !
However, it is damn close to the deck...

It wasn't an air-show the guy filming it was actually on vacation and he was on a fishing boat or something when the plane flew over. I have a screener taken from that vid as my desktop
The video clearly shows the condensation cone effect that planes can sometimes have when going supersonic, its really cool to watch.

OK, so I was wrong about what branch of the armed forces he would be in, point is he most likely wouldn't be a pilot still if he did that. Flyboy, if somebody in the Air Force were to do a flyby with the cockpit about even with the tower, the plane about 50 feet off the ground, and sideways do you think he'd still be flying for the Air Force?? Also since you'd probably have quite a bit more experience with planes than me do you see any signs of either the elevator or lack of rudder that I pointed out, or is thep icture not good enough for that to be seen?

The real story on that photo is that its real. And it seems as though that it wasnt even a Navy pilot flying the thing. It was just some guy who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the night before.

Structure on the deck is the LSO (landing signals officer) platform, port side aft on the deck. If the F-14 in question was actually flying as pictured, it would hit the deck and cartwheel into the island. If the crew is still aboard, they have less than a second to live. Nice picture though.
