they pay with advertising, i am not sure of the bandwidth limit. personally i get my website, www.scoob-e.com , through www.xanthion.com i pay only 3.95 a month, they provide me with 200MB of web space and 10GB of data transfer. I can always upgrade if i need to also. if you looking into getting a .com, they are the way to go. very cheap, and they have a good web site manager utility also. I use dreamweaver to make it, then i click a button, and dreamweaver uploads everything i need to the site. you can also use frontpage or use a file manager on their site to upload your site to it.
