Default Chicken Sticks

Let’s discuss the Manual Engine Cranking System (MECS), erroneously and popularly known as a “chicken stick.” Now everyone knows neither chickens or sticks can fly, unless you’re referring to the popular Ugly Stick airplane, which flys very well, and is certainly not a chicken, thank you very much. Most R/C’ers think a “chicken stick” is the method you use to start your engine when you are too cheap to buy an electric starter. WRONG!!! A “chicken stick” is the method you use to pin down the last piece of white meat with your fork before your brother gets his grubby little hands on it. A quick look around the table, one fast thrust with your fork, and the bird is yours; as opposed to a lazy look in the sky, a quick flip with the MECS, and the bird is started! As you can see, they are quite different in tools used, method, and desired effect! So let’s keep this one straight: MECS=plane start, chicken stick=food stuff.

You might as well tackle the issues of fish sticks, chicken fingers and buffalo wings. What about banana plugs? Do you use them if your banana leaks?

Turn 6 Racing Team, home of the electric chicken stick, now available with alligator clips or panel ready.

I don't have a 12 Volt power source at my field. Is there an electric chicken stick model that runs off of DC, so I could plug it into my power panel? Also, does it come with banana jacks already installed, or would I have to supply my own?

No problem, just get some seeds and plant some currant bushes at your field. Before you know it, you'll be able to plug in your electric chicken stick and start all the planes you want!

If you were an old time flier who has regrown the skin on the first two fingers of his right hand many times, you too would call it a "Chicken" stick.
