Default teaching yourself to fly

Back in the late seventies, I was trying to teach myself to fly using a Sig Cub. A friend was assisting me, and my young son was watching my failed attemps. After breaking over a dozen props, on my last attempt, I finally got it airborne, it was a very short flight. with the engine/firewall, gas tank, and airplane lying in 20FT line, my son runs over to the wreckage and exclaims" Didn't break the prop Dad!"
Now whenever I think of this I can't help but smile!
this hobby can produce some fond memories!
