Default Digitech Jetcat Information Screen Wireless!

as you might now we where working on more options.

this i want to share with you.
i managed to get the info screen running with XB Pro units without to much hassle.
if there is enough interest we are willing to invest in this.
but for some guys i will explain how to make it yourself:

you need basicly these 3 parts :
2 X XBee PRO 60mW Wire Antenna : http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/pro...oducts_id=8742
1x XBee Explorer USB : http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/pro...oducts_id=8687 (xbpro programmer)

the explorer is needed to make your units unique to only communicate between both units , for example you can use the engines or ecu serial to communicate with the unit on ground.
otherwise it is possbile to read also your neigbhours data.
optional is then offocurse you could receive it on multiple units example / laptop for storage and info screen for direct info..
since the data stream comming from the jetcat ecu is compatible with the jetcat software..

XBee 5V/3.3V Adapter Board from : http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/pro...oducts_id=9132

with these 3 items it is very easy to convert to wireless.
the pro units are illegal in europe but legal in the US.

the range i tested was about 700-900 meters

also you CAN use the XBpro to make a wireless connection between your ECU and your windows based laptop and run the Jetcat software with this wireless system.

for us to use it with the info screen we basicly need a small box to hold the info screen , Lipo 700 mah and a powerconvertor from 7,4 to 5 volts

so if there are guys out there who want to try it and test it let me know if i can help to set it up

for wiring you can have it work within 10 minutes on the laptop and a bit longer for the info screen since you need a power convertor .
but i am looking also getting the power from the TX

I would love to test one fror you Sandor.
Having a wireless GSU is brilliant ! besides, if the range is 900m, you would be able to see the data on the ground the entire flight ?
