I was wondering if a R/C jet could hover. I don't think it can because there would be no air going over the control surfaces, most importantly the rudder. I am just curious. I don't have a jet and if I did I don't think I will try to hover it.

Sure they can! Check out Eddie Weeks web page and look at the pictures of The Rig and watch the videos as well!

Its just a matter of time. There is a new jet out called the 'Rookie' (Kangaroo 3) it has variable thrust vectoring tailpipe and is available ready to fly from Tamjets in California. You can check it out at http://www.tamjets.com

Speaking of vectoring nozzles, who makes the operational turkeyfeathers for the Byron F-16? I only saw one ad for sale here around a year or so ago. Are they even worth the trouble to find???

I have somewhat of a related question to this hovering question: Can a full scale plane hover, or is this limited to R/C models? I've never heard of a full scale plane having "unlimited vertical", so I'm guessing no..

Sean Tucker hovers into the wind at high alpha but also does consecutive torque rolls.
The Turbo Raven is no more due to a crash while performing his takeoff- into a loop- landing routine. The pilot (can't recall his name at the moment) retired after the crash which was caused by a malfunction in the prop pitch control mechanism.
