Looks good Ian, love the union flag look, I did me 1.9 in a F1 scheme, considering doing the big one the same, do you know of any details thread on a 2.5m build it would be good to look at the differences.

Great paint scheme Ian! Yours is the first one I have seen with winglets. Is that something from Tomahawk or is it your own design?

Paul
the 2.5 will look great in that scheme! Craig tomahawk doesn't do the winglets for the 2.5 only for the 1.9 so before painting the wings I had some machined bushes made and installed them so the winglets slide into 2 small 3mm tubes in the tips and a grub screw holds them in place! All I did was re size the winglets from my 1.9 .

Guys!

What is the perfect CG reading for 2.5M futura for a perfect sports flying? Not too much tail heavy nor the nose!!

5mm behind the main spar give me a viceless flight envelope. Although you could move it 20mm in either direction from there and still have safe peformance.

Hi all !

Mine is on the rear side... It sits on the main 3 wheels, but if I put the tail cone in contact with the ground, it will stay on the ground... I like it like that, and if the main gear was more rear, I would have put the CG more rear...

All that with fuel tank empty.

The Futura is more neutral like that and it's a blast for F3A style aerobatics...

Hello Champs,

Ordered my 2.5m after having flown 1.9m for about 2 years. Need following info:-

1. Perfect size for servos arms (Ailerons, Elevators, Flaps & Rudder)
2. Good CG location for delightful inverted and knifedge flights

Regards,

Any particular need to apply heat shield paint or ceramic blanket at the end of the exhaust?

No, it's not necessary. The whole fus stays pretty cool on this big jet.

Thanks Craig! Another query to ppl applying vinyl. Do we have to first paint it white then apply vinyls? Because the gel coat white turns yellow after an year or so...

No need to paint over the gel coat unless you want to smooth out the seams. I've been flying mine for 3 years now with just vinyl over the gel coat and I don't see any evidence of yellowing.

Wow thats easier then and leads to a quicker build too. Is vinyl heavier than the paint?
