Default KingCat Smoke Installation Help Needed

Hello everyone. I am new to turbines and I am finishing up my BVM KingCat. I bought the Jetcat smoke pump when I purchased the Go-Fly package from BVM and I am ready to install this equipment. Problem is there are few details on pump and tank installation. I could figure it out myself, but if anyone has some pictures on what they did, that would be very helpful. A picture of how to install the smoke tubes would also be handy.

I am using the two saddle tanks, header tank and UAT, so room is getting tight. Thought about using the header tank as the smoke tank, but decided against it. I could replumb if this is the recommended approach.

Thanks for your help

A header tank for a smoke tank is not needed... in case you were thinking that.

To install/mount the stainless steel smoke sticks, use the tab that is spot welded on the sticks and sit it under the engine mount strap (clamped against the hot section)... Then adjust you sticks per your smoke kit's instructions to the recommended distance from and into the exhaust nozzle.

you should be able to find numerous pics on this by searching RCU.

**EDIT**, I don't know if JetCat uses the spot welded tabs on the sticks, My only experience is with Tam's sticks and pumps.

A 32 oz dubro will go behind the fuel tanks between the wing spars. You may fit a 40, I think I did. A 20 oz will go between the saddle tanks, this gives plenty of smoke. Connect in series...

File/TB/Craig: Thanks for the information and pictures. Much appreciated. I think I may even have a Dubro 20 oz laying around somewhere.

Regards, Robert
