You can hook up to the satellite on any of 100 stations, and listen from coast to coast. On our vacation trip, we had some minor (a few seconds) drop-outs on narrow roads that were boardered by tall pines, and of course inside tunnels and when stopped under wide hiway overpasses.
There is a terrific variety of music, as well as some of the old radio programs from the thirtys, fortys and fiftys.
Each of the 100 stations has it's own venue, so there is something for everyone.
The equipment and installation set me back about $450.00, and an additional $9.95 per month subscription fee.

I think I will settle on an 18 or 20 X 8 foot trailer from what I have read so far. The generator and A/C along with an alarm is a must, heck its a 113 degrees out here today. I'm sure its much warmer on the dry lakebeds where I fly sometimes.
Matt, I thought the Toyboxes were a great idea, but to tow an additional 10 to 14 feet of living space along with everything else, makes it a bit much. On the other hand, I could add a TV, DVD, stereo and a frig for some cold ones. This way I can stick around the field longer and enjoy the company. Heck you might just find me the next morning passed out under the trailer

XM... I have Sirrius satellite radio as well.... I thought that was a given though!
Matt,
The 6.0 L in the F-250 is plenty of power. Have you driven a F-350 many miles? All of my work trucks are 350's and they will beat the crap out of you if you go many miles. Make sure and get the King Ranch package if you do get the bigger Fords. It is like riding in your living room.

Well, I finally placed the order for my trailer and settled on the 20' X 8.5' X 7'(tall) with all of the goodies I could think of and all of the hints and tips from those here. It should be ready in four weeks, unfortunately too late for Fresno.
Gordon are you happy with the Protec alarm and the solar panels, these were the only two things I have not settled on yet. I still have a week before I need to decide on an alarm system.
Thanks to all that chimed in.

The solar panel is awesome - glad I got it.
The Protec alarm is a bit short on instructions (but you can easily phone up and get helpful answers anytime you need em) and I personally had a hard time getting an antenna with the right kind of connector for the unit that does the paging (so I ended up soldering the antenna wire inside instead). Also, if you lose the remote for the alarm you can't just get replacement - you have to ship the alarm back for him to match the new remote to... but other than that I have been pretty happy with the alarm thusfar. (I don't use the brakes option on mine BTW, just coz I was too lazy to wire it in)
