JR 12X Help

My Feedback: (21)
I will try to explain what is going on with my 12X.
The other day I put 3 flights on my Turbine Falcon 120. All three flights were good. The temp was about 35 degrees and the TX was in the case in the back of my truck on the way home. The truck does have a cap on it. When I got home I took the TX out to check something and I had the Blinking back lite screen and it would not power up.
I read on another thread that the stock batteries are no good.
I changed out the stock batt with an Enloope pack and the TX powered up normal. I did however unplug the stock pack while I was getting the blinking back lite display.
Now when I select a different model I can get that model selected and and get to my normal front screen but when I power down and then power back up again it goes back on its owne to my model #3 which is my Falcon 120 jet. I can not stay on a selected model when I power down and back up do you think I cooked something when I unplugged the Batt when it was blinking?
I plan on calling HH also
Thanks
Joe

I just discovered something else. I can not reset any models. I try to reset them and it shows the selected model cleared but when I power down and power back up the model I tried to reset is back in the TX.
I will send it to Horizon.
I am completely baffled.

Never seen this on a 12 series radio but it does happen from time to time on the 9 series.
Basically its a component failure on the CPU PCB which directs memory to the flash drive when the set powers down.
Horizon should be able to sort it easily for you.

It should hold new data as long as it is powered up but will loose it as soon as its powered down.
If it doesn't do that it sounds like something major!

I had the sae thing happen about three weeks ago.
I just changed packs and it stoped.
A week later I installed an Eneloop pack and have had no trouble since.
I thing it was the temperture.

No lithium in the later JR sets (9, 11 & 12 series) as it uses a flash memory.

I was wondering if the Enloop Batt may have caused the problem. They were fully charged and read 11.4 or 11.5 volts.
Any ideas on this

I doubt this was it. The internal regulator can easily handle this. And, this voltage doesn't stay here forever like if you used a 3S lipo whose NOMINAL voltage is about 11.2.
It sounds like a good lesson though! Thanks for sharing! I'm glad I never pulled out my crappy Horizon Hobby batteries when my screen was flashing! Those enloop batteries have been outta control awsome for me! I have been flying for 3 days in a row and my voltage hasn't dropped below 10.3V. My 12x never did that NEW.
Sorry for your down time.
Raf
