Default Attention Jet Central Mammoth users

Hey All you Mammoth users. I have a question I was hoping I could ask that would be answered by the consumers, not the Reps or Distributors for Jet Central. For those of you that have owned and used the Mammoth turbine, how is she? I have owned a couple of other Jet Central tubrines (and they all run great) but this would be my first kero start.

Right now I am thinking of buying the Jet Central Mammoth, but I have also been looking into both the JetCat P-200, or Kingtech K-220 (when it comes out later this year). My main point of this post is I want to know what the pros and cons are for the Mammoth however?

Startup ease?

Acceleration?

Reliability…any flame outs?

Anything else you would like to add?

Thanks in Advance!

George

I am interested too George. Have heard a lot of good things about the turbine, but not sure how many Mammoth's are in circulation now and how many end-users are as happy as clams. Hopefully this thread becomes informative and doesnt disintegrate into a brand war.

I'm a happy owner of a Mammoth for 6 months only, the engine is 7 hours running now and powered a F16 1/6. Take off weight 23kg.
the engine is gaz start and I know that jet central is working on the kero start version.
During winter start was slow even after removing the gaz restrictor between the gaz valve and the engine.(temperatures below 10°C).
The acceleration is really good as my jet munts 160.
the noise is really much more important than a class 160 and the power too.
fuel comsuption is equivalent of a P200, I can fly 6min with 4,6L on board, with 1,5L remaining after landing, and 9'30'' of total running time from start up and cut off.
No flame out for the moment either in normal and inverted flight.
Before the Mammoth the F16 was powered by a Merlin 160 and Take off weight wax 19kg.Now with 23kg(engine weight difference+additional fuel+ under wings loads), the aircraft seems less heavy in flight and max speed increased seriously.
The engine max RPM is 104000 Rpm compare to a P200 112000Rpm.
That's my first Jet central but it seems to be a good engine.
let see for the next hours...

Purchased one in December of 2010, unfortunately have not had a chance to install it in the airframe. This is my third Jet Central turbine (2 rhinos installed and running with no issues). [8D]

Hello,I live in France near Paris and I have a Mammoth installed in my 1/5 Mirage 2000 from Aviation Design.I have logged now 32 flights so about 5 hours running.I must say I have not had a single problem with this engine, power seems to be good, acceleration also, and after a
flight of 6 mns there is approximately 1,5 liter fuel remaining from initially 5 liters. Also I have not had start problems, even in cold weather, unlike Christophe"Batos"(Bonjour Ă* toi en passant et Ă* bientĂ´t j'espère!)
This is my 2nd JetCentral engine(first is a rhino) and I am happy with both of them !Regards.Etienne.

I don't own a Mammoth (yet) but there were several @ Florida Jets that I kept an eye on over the event. I saw nothing buts lots of flying by those that were using them. The two I watched the most were in the large Tomahawk Futuras. They performed well.
