Default aeronautical experts HELP

Ok all you aeronautical experts, I would like to know how this horizontal stab will affect the balance of this Rookie. I bought this used and know it flew very well set up this way. The stock balance point is 95 to 100mm in front of the wing tube. I will do first flight this Tues.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks George

The addition of a horiz. stab. will move the neutral point aft. In order to maintain a similar static margin, the CG will also need to move aft. First, find (calculate) MAC of the Rookie's wing. The distance from 25% MAC to the original CG, expressed as a % of MAC is the static margin. Now, calculate the neutral point with the horiz. stab. using the linked website. The CG can now be moved to a position that yields a static margin (SM) similar to the flying-wing version. Tailed aircraft usually use a SM smaller than that for a flying wing, due to the longer tail-moment. A SM of 10-15% would be a good starting-point. Hope this helps.[link]http://www.geistware.com/rcmodeling/cg_super_calc.htm[/link]

Not a aeronautical expert , but we did this before on the Rookie and Hotstpot. Presuming the main gear location wasn´t modified, the CG will a bit forward the mains, keeping the nose wheel sitting very light.

Land it with flaps, in a flatter attitude than in the original form, you can mix a bit of up elevator for avoid pitching down when the flaps are deployed.

This conversion don´t like high alpha flight, sometimes pitching up when the plane stalls. I daresay that you will find that you have a very nice flying machine... good luck in the maiden!
