Looking for a good Viper Jet

Hey guys I am pondering keeping my Super Eagle Turbine and getting something like a Viper Jet. How do these fly, I was looking for something I could burn up the sky with, maybe put a smoke system in it and just have fun. My other jets is going to be a scale bird, buts it is always nice to have one that you can just abuse
Fej has one, who else makes one like these?

There is a ton of info on the 2M Skymaster Viper Jet. People seem to be pretty happy with it. If you really want to turn and burn, get a Ultra Flash or Bandit ARF. The Viper is a cruiser, and can't take a lot of abuse.

Well our ideas of that are a little different im not a fan of those type of jets. I like something semi scale or scale, im happy with a cruiser. You can only do so much with a jet

I had the large VJ from Skymaster and it was one of the best plane I've had as far a general flying goes and I'm told the smaller one if kept light is even better.

I always feel bad seeing how he's handling what I assume is the pitot tube on that VJ. [:@]

My Feedback: (13)
I'll agree with DubD...the 2M VJ from SM is NOT durable. Mind you if you fly it ~10-30 times a year you're probably fine. I've got 46 flights on mine in a little over a month with a P-120 and find that it's speed, even at full grunt is less than I'd like it to go (isn't that always the case?). I've got little cracks popping up around the plane and I have yet to have a day at the field where I haven't broken a gear door hinge (I've ordered a set of aluminum gear door hinges from BVM but haven't installed them yet).
Additionally it has a real bad tendency to snap when you pull on the stick a bit. I've added a mix where the ailerons will kick up with lots of backstick but haven't had a chance to try it yet. As a result of watching my buddies fly their Flashes, and having flown my VJ I decided to order an Ultra Flash. I prefer the looks and presence of the VJ, but the long-term durability and speed of the UF is a huge advantage to me. I am well on track to put 100-150 flights on this year...the VJ won't take a few years of that. If you want a list of the recommended reinforcements for the 2M after my experiences, please let me know.
Dantley, I need to pick your brain about the UF at some point.

hmmm I think this is funny people bash me and my choice of FEJ but from what I am seeing the skymaster stuff isnt all its cracked up to be. Anyway maybe I will just see what I can find at kentucky jets maybe someone is selling one. Wish I could find someone who was interested in a heli, I have two of the best helis around fully loaded I have been wanting to sell but since the economy is bad nobody will pay what they are worth. If that doesnt work I will just get a FEJ viper

Fender - People might be bashing you because you give praise about products without any real experience . Some of us are unbiased and tell it like it is, regardless of what we own. I have 4 large Skymaster planes and the quality is great and the gear work EVERY TIME. The small Viper isn't designed for "ABUSE" as you put it and that is why I suggested other models.
Regarding FEJ, I hope they succeed as more competition equals better products. However, I have yet to see a FEJ in person with gear that work. The last 5 jet events I've attended the FEJ planes all had gear problems. As soon as I SEE this trend change, I will give them my money. Good luck with yours! My time is too valuable to be #$*##$ around with problematic planes on my days off. I'd rather be flying.
Dave - Regarding the UF, go with the stock gear from CARF. The plane goes together easily and has no bad habits in the air. Give me a shout about anything specific.

I only have given "praise" to the fact they have great service and are continuing to improve their product. They are not bashing me personally, just the fact i picked FEJ. Im just stating the fact that every product has its flaws.

You're giving praise for what is EXPECTED. Our expectations have gotten really low if we praise companies for simply good service and fixing their broken products. Just sayin.

Okay your just trying to start something, I have never praised or bashed any product on here so get your story straight. What I have done is thanked people who do I have delt with, ask question/comment in response to other people bashing products in pms to me on something they really dont have clue about. So don't insult someone because they look at more than the product itself as a good determining factor for a good product. I dont care how good your product is, if your service sucks and you don't hold true to the product and fix things that are bad nobody will continue to buy it. I think just buying something without looking at the service, pride in product and quality of the product then you are just being a dump shopper.
