I'm currently building a 1/8th scale Mitsubishi F2 on tailerons only. I usually use JR servo's and was gonna go with 8711's i think but wondered what others thought. The Savox servo's look pretty tempting ?

If you have got money to throw away go for the JR. The new Savox are just as good or if I dare say Better!! the gear train is silky smooth.

I've got some savoxx in my rc cars, 50cc yak and YA f15 so far I have been very impressed with them. I've got the 1258tg
And 1256tgs. The 1256 is really fast def need to use some expo, the drive trains are silky smooth, I dare to say even smoother
Than my 84 and 8711s. I'm actually planning on going with full savoxx servos on my new MBA tornado. What really sold me on them was seeing them on mine and my car buddies 1/8 scale buggies and monster trucks. Watching an 8 pound car cartwheel for 60ft at 40mph and keep going several times was very impressive. I know cars have servo savers but I've still seen other brands of servos strip after a few similar incidents.

thanks for feedback guys. got a few weeks till i order but think i'm gonna stick to the 8711 or 8911. might try some savox on another project first that will have more redundancy than just tailerons on this

I've been using Savox on my Elan tail which gets a good thrashing as a test bed.
I now have a full set in a 1/5th L39 and I think they are superb. You only have to look at them to see the quality.
I've seen almost new 8511's pack up and that's enough for me to steer clear (apart from the prices).
Gary.
