Default FLy Eagle Jets

Just curious if anyone has had issues with Fly Eagle Jets in the quality of their product such as the equipment i.e. retracts, airlines, bulkhead/formers not secured or improperly installed. In addition to the run around from their U.S. Rep in Maryland? I completely understand that not all their products will be as poorly constructed as mine or maybe mine was just a fluke, however their customer support leaves a lot to be desired including their home office.
While I await any responses from members I will compile the timeline of my experience and post.

Yup, I've yet to see even ONE successful fly eagle jets flight. If you'd have checked here sooner and seen all the problems Fly Eagle Jets has had, you probably wouldn't have bought one. Sorry about your troubles.

I purchased the F-14. The bulkheads were not properly glued and simply came loose when first touched. No re-enforcing at stabilizer pivot point. Most of the included platforms/plywood extremely thin. Not worthy of a high performance model as this. Their valves are reported not to be the highest quality as reported by the builder so I opted to replace them along with the entire air syste
Having to consider replacing gear with mechanical due to reported failure of their components.

So what are you saying?
Nothing in my posting is or will be degrading, or obscene.
What it will be is the truth of my experience in hopes of the future customer learning from my experience prior to investing over 10,000 in a kit

Simple answer for you, Yes all of the above.
I have had 2, one broke up in flight, structural failure, the other I did my homework and improved it and spent a lot of money changing, replacing, re-inforcing etc.
Do your homework and go through everything and improve it to your standards.

I appreciate the info. I just got the plane back from the builder, still having to complete some things and verify structural integrity and hopefully airworthiness.

I think fly eagle jets, right now, make for really awesome static display models.

They really do have gorgeous paint jobs.

It appears that fej's are getting better but I think they are definitely a model to check everything on over and over. There is a thread showing a stress test and failure on the f14 wing that you will want to see. My experiences with them were not great. In the end I got rid of the jets I had after fixing multiple structural issues. I was just worn out and did not want the grief any longer.

That's interesting, I have the large Fly Eagle Viper jet that was flown at the Jets Over Kentucky event last week. The plane flew quite well, gear and all gear doors worked perfectly. I even bounced the plane three times on landing and only bent the pin holding the nose strut in place. Considering that I still had most of the fuel on board (approximate weight at landing 47lbs), I personally feel the plane held up pretty well. Sorry to hear that someone is having an issue with their model, but I certainly hope everything is worked out to his satisfaction.[8D]
I would also mention that I have had two jet models from difference company to suffer from structural issues in the past 4 weeks, neither was a Fly Eagle model. In one situation, I experienced major flutter on the rudder which unfortunately resulted in extensive damage to the airframe. In the second situation, the plane came apart in the air resulting in damage to some electronic components and the turbine( total destruction to the airframe). Again I will emphasize, the planes that I had issues with were not from Fly Eagle. So I think it is fair to say, that s#&T can happen whether your plane is from Fly Eagle or some other company.

Yes James is the rep, the only rep I was referred to. James is a nice person but when confronted with the truth the responses stop

Just for the record. I started this project last November. The kit was already in stock so age wise is unknown. During the building, the builder advised of first generation kit parts. James was questioned and replied my kit was not a first generation. So who to believe?
Some parts where damaged and touched up at factory along what appeared to be previously used parts sent with kit.

Cmorgan:

The model was delivery to KY Jet during July. You bought it on November. It is 4 months old.

I did not answer you, because you knew what you did to me.

I did nothing but tell you the truth based upon all your recommendations. I still have all the emails, yes all of them Take responsibility for your own actions or lack thereof as I have for not researching these forums enough prior to purchase from FEJ.
That wil be the only response Mr James you will receive from me on this site.

I agree with the fact we don't need another bashing thread here. Both sides have had their say. Now Lets move on.

Your right Jet Junkie I have had my say. Now another saying is if you don't like it, don't read it......simply put don't read it, skip over it instead of running your mouth with irrelevant information.

Hey man, we all feel bad for you, and know you are unhappy with your purchase. These are open forums, so you will gett some repsonses that you dont want, but there is no reason to direct your anger towards those guys. If their is any way i can help with your f14 project, let me know. The FEJ model looks great, but from the very first pictures that were posted of it, i knew their were some serious problems that would show up eventually.
