Using Neodymium Magnets

I am planning to use a fair few small (5mm x 0.5mm) neodymium magnets to install me cockpit on a 1/3 scale Hawk for easy disassembly and access. I am using a Weatronics 2.4 radio. Does anyone have any knowledge to whether the magnets could cause any issues with the radio or any other standard jet components?

Hey Maybe they will improve your radio reception like those cell phone magnets.

Really though I've never had a problem on my models or heard anything bad about them from Helicopter, glider, and electric guys that has used them. I think gliders would be the first to complain because the magnets would be so close to the receivers in the cockpits.
Hmm this might make an interesting range check experiment. Range with magnets and without.

Should be fine but I guess you have the only bit of kit that can tell you if there is a problem!!
Try the RX log without the magnets, place the magnets where you want them and re-check the log file for RF link quality?.........

I used LARGE ones, ones so strong I had difficulty getting the canopy off, and had no issues whatsoever. Absolutely no issues. None.
If magnets interfered with the 'magic smoke' inside recievers we would have heard of and seen a lot of evidence of that by now.

I would not worry about it. Unless you put them extremely close maybe and even then I cant see an issue. Some current sensors use hall effect sensors but I don't think the Weatronic has those.

The only place that I can think of where it MAY be an issue is around the front of the turbine where you have a spinning magnet in the nose cone for a sensor to read the RPM.
