a half-size F-16 ...... hmmmmmm i think it will be too heavy for the rules and regs in Denmark
maybe a 1/3 scale F-16

Just use regular packaging tape, we used very little reinforced tape (it's heavy)
There is a little reinforced tape here and there - and used to mount the wing to the fuse
watch the weight, and it will fly just fine.
The DC-10 weighs around 22 kg, with a span and length over 5 meters, and flies well with a simjet 3000 at less than half throttle.(6-7 kg thrust)
only take off was full throttle.
it was radargun'ed the second flight, and the speed was around 29-32 kmh when it touched down.
don't fly it like a ultra bandit on stereoids - it WILLbreak apart !!
don't even try to fly it like a boomerang.
edit:
When properly taped, a 20mm polystyrene sheet can be rolled like this
![](http://www.mfk-falken.dk/galleri/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=20678&g2_serialNumber=2)
try it - you will be surprised the amount it can be rolled, and the strength of the tube

Keld and Kasper ("Carbon Customs" here) deserves a big hand for getting the idea to do this (and pulling it off in a weekend!) !
It was a great pleasure to be just a little part of the gang doing this project, to see this big "foam monster" takeoff was something out of this world !!!
Pictures from the jetmeeting (and lots of DC10 pics) in JetDanmark's gallery: http://jetdanmark.dk/e107_plugins/au....php?show=2011

One from today
quite windy at the moment of flight - 6 m/s (much for such a low wingloading)

Most of the gluing are done with PU foam
in Denmark we have two kinds (that i know of)
one is a spraycan with a piece of tube attached - this foam will expand AFTER it is sprayed
![](http://www.fotoagent.dk/single_picture/11247/138/large/203221.jpg)
the other one is different - with a gun-type applicator/nossle, and most of the expansion is done in the applicator
the can is mounted upside-down.

Use the one where most of the expansion happens in the applicator - so the gluejoints aren't pushed apart.
and try it on a few pieces of foam before gluing your new masterpiece![](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif)

Wow, what a project! Watching the video, I was waiting for one of the "biggest wind turbine props in Denmark" to slice that thing in two! Maybe they weren't as close as they looked.
Great and entertaining flight! Congratulations!
Craig
