Jet cat P100 RX first run.
Probably the most boring, and uneventful first start of any turbine.... Typical jet cat then Really. I primed the single fuel line up too the festo fitting on the can. Put the trim up and that was that. I have said it before, but the consistency of these Jet Cats is truly outstanding. There is more drama and fuss in starting an electric model up these days!
The only slight issue I had was a Doh moment when the GSU kept showing a flat battery. That was tracked back to the turbine being set to run on the supplied 9.9v Life pack instead of the normal 7.4v Lipo that was already fitted within the model. A quick flick through the varied battery selection menu in turbine limits soon sorted that out.. It seems these latest ECU's will run on almost any type of battery.
Some boring photos for now, but a Video of the first start is uploading now. I was planning on flying it this weekend, but may have to sneak out tomorrow or Friday as the forecast is looking cack!
Regards Al

Hi Ali
Thanks a lot I got my 100, what a stunning little engine, I think it is going to be the perfect combination for my Baby Futura.
I just have two questions.
1 Do they have an english manual available? (P100 RX)
2 What spacing (packing) should I use to mount the P100 in the 1.9M Futura.
Thanks Neil

Hi Heraldo.
The P-100's seem to be doing fine. I have sold a few, and not had a single one back as yet. I have to admit, I have not done much flying on my own pair of P-100's but thats only because they arrives just as I was gearing up with new models for this year.
Pretty much an identical story on the P-140 Rx's
Not so good a news with the 180 Rx I am afraid, but thats covered in another thread.
Regards Al

RE: Jet cat P100 RX first run.
Ali, I have posted my issue on my own thread, but had my 100RX seize on start in my Skymaster Viperjet. I have contacted the agent, AK Modellsport, who has forwarded the details onto Jetcat. Waiting for word back.
I myself have had 5 good starts including 2 flights with this engine before this happened. Engine has had 15 starts and tot run time of 50 min. Looks to me like the turbine seized, as immediately after the engine seized, it freed up again, when the engine went into its cooldown cycle. It now spins freely.
The only thing I changed was I fitted the additional fuel tank, which was not fitted on the first five starts. I used 4mm fuel line throughout, connecting the fuel tanks in series with the hardware supplied by Skymaster.
Have you guys heard of anyone else with this problem?
Appreciate any info

Hi Millsy,
I have yet to receive a P100 back from a customer with anything like this issue I am pleased to say. My very first P100 which was pre production did seize on a run up to full power, but that was a catastrophic failure which the factory dealt with and it was before production turbines were hitting the shelves. Sorry, I can't shed any light on your issue. I guess its just a case of waiting for the guys at JC to get back to you.

RE: Jet cat P100 RX first run.
Be careful with it. We were out last week rechecking the speed potential with various configurations. One of my friends has a new Flash U with the P100RX in it and consistently pulled past 200. Best pass was 216mph. So it posible to get to these fast speeds with this little wonder. By the way we also clocked a Habu at 128mph. Stock electric. With gear.
Its a great little Big engine. This is a reference speed. Not intended to be duplicated. It is noteworthy what the engine is capable of, in an effort to comply..These speeds are probably not reproducible with larger engines of other brands as verified in another thread.

Uh oh look out...the "speed police" will be in here any second.
On another note, can someone please tell me the true installed weight of the P100 including battery/fuel pump etc etc?
