Don't know about the electron ones but I have Behotec C50f retracts and brakes on my viper. I was told the electron ones would not fit. Don't know about that for sure, just what I was told. The Gear is very robust but I have been having some problems with the controller blowing up on me. We think we have narrowed the problem down to a defective electric brake unit. I just got a couple of new brake units and a new controller so we will see how the new pieces work out.

Just going to build a Fantasy scheme Viper next wintertime, I don't want to keep back some information on the twin of the CARF model, the one from Tomahawk Design.
Maidened it last Friday. Stock pneumatic gear, P140 RX turbine, Jeti R18 Receiver.
This model is quite similar in flight and construction to the CARF Viper and has a dry weight of 15.6kg. You may find some info on my site: Directlink

Just wanted to post a quick update on my Viper which is equipped with the new Behotec C50F electric gear and brakes. I as I reported in an earlier post I had been having a problem with blowing up control units. Peter at Altecare supplied me with another new controller and a new set of electric brakes. After changing these out I have had over 30-40 successful bench tests of the system and numerous flights on the gear including 6 today. Everything worked perfectly on the 6 flights today and a couple of the landings were in some serious cross winds and were certified "gear testers". So I am hopeful the gear problems are over. On the plus side, the Viper is rapidly becoming the favorite in my hangar!

Here is a picture of my smoke tank. It is mounted above the main tank.
Pretty simple mount. The front of the tank is carried by a removable cross piece. The back is carried by a second cross piece that is built up from the bulkhead just behind the wing tube. I did not use the stock Comp Arf rear fuel tank mount as I wanted to get the turbine as far forward as possible for balance purposes. The tank in this position is pretty much on CG.
Not the only way to do it but this seems to work.

I am almost done on mine. Took me a while to finish since I had a few other projects, but C-ARF kits come together so quick.
I am using Electric retracts with Behotec swing arm struts but air wheel brakes.
Made my own light system, added smoke as well.
Also decided to put the elevator servos in the fuse, works great.

Well today was a nice day outside, first time since November we have a nice sunny day above freezing. Needless to say a long winter and managed to build two jets.
Ground tested the Viper with the Behotec 190 and my new multi color smoke system.
Works great. Now i am ready for the test flight.
Here is a short video clip of the smoke system:

Decided to move the smoke valves to accommodate the cockpit which initially I was not intending to do but changed my mind.
All done, just waiting for the 1/4 scale civilian pilot from Wojtek at All-Scale.
It is UNBELIEVABLE how cheap this cockpit is, C-ARF could have added $50 to the cost of the kit and offered a much better cockpit. They give you a printed piece of paper for the gauges.
Might end up upgrading that part later but for now time to test fly.
