Ultra lightning cockpit

Like many others I have used the Elite Force F-15 Blue Box cockpit
http://www.rcuniverse.com/gallery/ga...memid%3D387285
Fits well but its quite heavy (around 500-600gr)
But it is a VERY detailed cockpit. Unfortunately it is out of production and you can only find some on ebay or even on the clasifieds here on rcu. Some times I see them on sale here.

I went the light weight &some may say "cheap" route. Ifound the stock plastic parts too thin & cracked easily so I made my own. It's 1/16" ply base with balsa structure. For screens I cut squares out of a 7-UP (or Sprite)bottle and sandwiched them between a wood layer. Ithen used a paint marker to make some buttons/dials, primed & painted with Rustoleum Stone Grey and added a pilot. I admit it was kinda a rush job, but its simple &functional for me.
