SM L-39 live hinge repair. Need Help....
I have a SkyMasters L-39 and after flying today, I noticed that both flaps have a torn live hinge. It's near the fuse end and both torn areas are about 1 - 1 1/2 inches long.
Other then cutting out the live hinge and installing new hinge setups, is there a way to repair broken areas?
Thanks......
Mark

I have hat similar issues with the flaps of my large Skymaster Viperjet!
You can do a repair with peel ply!
Peel ply is normaly used for live hinges.
The repair is straightforward, tape some masking tape to the upper wingskin, to prevent leaking of the epoxy resin :-)
Make sure you roughen the surface with sandpaper, then apply the peel ply with little resin at the damaged position.
Let the epoxy cure over night, and use an unsharp knife or sawblade to make te hing by scratching and bending the flap.

This will do the job...wish you good luck!
