Just been sent this link to a video of Hawk(I think its a Skygate one) filmed from a FPV model. Take a look and see what you think.

Cool video but that's a lot to ri$k for the Hawk pilot, having a foamie flying so close (some of those closure rates had me thinking the Hawk is not long for this world if they do much more of this). One whack and you have a Hawk in the weeds and a foamie still flying. But it was fun to watch!
PS, the foamie flyer I think is the NYC FPV stunt genius [:'(]

Ah, Very nice!!
I have been flying FPV for about 1 1/2 years now and it's just amazing thing to do.
In terms of the risk the hawk pilot took, you have to understand that the pilot flying the FPV ship in this video is Trappy.... He's like, well the Ali of the FPV world
. damn hot on the sticks. but also shunned because of his stunts like his FPV flight over new york. Here is also well known for his "hill" flights.

If you were going to have someone follow your turbine model, he's the man you want.
Thanks

Good video indeed ! Baa baa sheep !
You have to check also the video with a giant scale glider, it's even more close !
I not sure the risk is so high, as the two planes are flying mostly in the same direction with the same speed, and except for the propeller, this EPO model should not do so much damage. If there is a large difference in direction and/or speed, here is the danger.
This sort of stuff is cool thing to do when in "FPV mode", I'll have to try that one day... [8D]

Now, I like FPV, and I like this recent video too. It's more along the lines of what FPV should be involved in. But I can't sit idle while any sort of "wow this Trappy guys in a genius" stuff starts to trickle in based on many of his champion choices in the past. Let's hope his future videos are more like this one and less like the NYC one. I'd support this move all the way. Because this video was fun to watch, and can actually can promote RC modeling in a good light!!

While just a small foamy electric, this is a neat perspective. Would be cool to put the camera behind the pilot and make his head and hands move with the inputs...

Shunned for good reason; a demonstrated lack of judgment and the ability + desire to spread the risk to others in the community via a few of the stunts but most known was the NYC stunt. Don't compare him to Ali. Ali is someone who promotes the hobby for all people and protects it. Trappy was adamant, over and over, that he didn't care what happened because of his stunt - he didn't even try to defend his choice, he just said ''so what''. He even admitted the stunt would really be bad for the US RC scene. Yeah, he's a real gem! You like this guy? Really? It doesn't take a very capable thinker to realize the most recent scare to RC jet flying and the association with terror plots was due to that NYC stunt - the NYC stunt really suggested an alternate use for RC. The terror joke of a plot has been really bad PR as a result IMHO. I had to again explain RC jet flying to a guy when I was buying my last 5 gallons of kerosene. The guy at the kerosene pump was all over the ''fact'' that RC was dangerous, especially jets.
