Hi Frédéric,

Jet looks great. Thanks for posting the photos. I watched the video and was impressed with how slow you can bring it in for the landing. On the roll out I noticed it tends to tip, any idea why that happens? Could it be the main struts are a bit soft?

I used to have a JL BAe Hawk with a P-80 and it was a great little jet once I got the elevator linkage slop removed. It appears the same mechanism is in the Alpha Jet. Do you have any issues with yours?

Again, congratulation on completing your first flights. Paint scheme is nice too.

Hi Frédéric,

i will get my alpha  in the next few days. I ordered it three months ago. I was able to inspect one at JetPower 2011.

What´s about the CG? Is the original position ok? Which position do you have?

Best regards
Markus

Frederic, well done video on your alphajet !! this jet is a sweet flying machine, got to see one fly at the recent Jet world masters in Dayton U.S. and is not seen at jet rallys here!

Hi all, thanks for your comments, I make only 10 flights and I have not finished the setting, the original CG is ok for the first fly but I have move it back for the next fly. I will test it soon.

For the fly of this video, the main landing gear is bit soft and there was much cross wind, I have modified it for the next flights, I will test it to soon.

For the moment I have not find problem on elevator linkage.

I will publish my setting when all is ok.

Thanks for your comments.

Regards,
Frédéric Dauch

Hi Frédéric,

your youtube video is blocked here in Germany because the music rights are not GEMA confirm. :-(( Can you upload the video without any music? I want to see your alpha ;-)

Frédéric

Congratulations. What's the C.G location is yours? I just got mine now. My builder just needs to put radio and batteries and we would be ready to fly.

Hi Mike,

Are you going to be offering this jet through GJC?

Can you post a few more shots of the inside and the main gear doors?

Thanks!

Yes. We plan to offer it in ARF, RTF, and Turnkey jets. Will post more photos later. We need to do more test flights before intro. Mike

Hi Dave, Colin just emailed me after we send him a "Back to the Future" Calendar ads by mistake! What a coincidence?

Here are some photos of my jets, all factory ready right out of the box. I will be testing the Spark 120 Turbine as well. It's made by Jet Legend and had been tested in their factory for more than a year now.

More photos are shown here is the link to our blog.

Only comment on model is it needs bigger than 5/16" rams on the main doors, they are huge and suck open. We used 7/16" rams on Colin's to cure it

Hi Mike,

Yes I look forward to re-living my past with the new calendar

The Alpha is great. My CG is 305mm from the wing leading edge measured at the root and it flies great.

Chairman Dave set the movements up on mine. I wasn't sure where to start really with the high wing and anhedral wing and tail but amazingly it took off and needed 1 peep of aileron trim. He's just lucky I reckon

Im hoping to fly mine again tomorrow..

Hi Dave,

Thanks for letting me know the air cylinder issues. I am going to replace them with Robart 165 Air cylinder and increase the leverage at the door hinges.

To do list,
1. Add FOD Screen for Engine,
2. use larger door air cylinders
3. Set C.G at 305mm at LE @Wing roots.

Colin - Fly more and post more video and photos here. Have a nice "Flying" weekend.

Yep, I just continue to be lucky ;-)

Mike Robart 165 cylinders..the best- so perfect

Colin...enjoy, don't worry about me flying in an Aberdeen peat bog with only a Stryker and the locals toys to play with! They say it could hit double digits on temp tomorrow here

Hi all, I love your PAF Alpha ! I continue my tests of the Alpha with the Jetlegend 12kg turbine, it functions very well, you can find my first test of the turbine on : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKvh7YJtu1M or http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzIzMjYxNTk2.html

This turbine is perfect for this model, I make the first fly with a K-170F at 114000t/min and I have more power with the JL-120, more lighter and less consumption, perfect !

I have to move back the centering of 2 cm compared to the centering of origin, now it’s perfect for aerobatics.

Like you, I have the same problem on main gear door, I increase the leverage at the door hinges but this problem is solved only on left door...

I add this FOD ( http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...12966&aff=3257 ) on JL turbine, it’s perfect.

I add too the leds.... not for the night flight lol

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Frédéric,

thank you very much for your new video link! Your Alpha looks great! I also will install all position lights. But you forgot one , the white taillight. The light on the top of the fuselage is a red flashing light (ACL), the same type of light (ACL) is locatet on the bottom of the fuselage.

I got my alpha last week. But i will have much more work. I will change and rebuilt the nose to the german LNU version.

We had successful maiden flights last weekend. Total about 10 flights now. We have finally moved the C.G about 2.5cm behind the factory suggested location, so it's flying and landing easier. The wing loading is very light, so it's floaty. The air brakes will make the nose point down slightly and decrease the speed drastically, so be aware to add some throttle to compensate the loss of air speed.

Here are some photos. Will post some photos of the smoke system and video later.

Thanks,

Mike

Great looking aeroplane, really liked Colin's and I only had two test flights, I can see this on my 2012 list.

Hello,

I have read above that the landing gear need to be harder (it seems too soft on Frederic's video).
Do you have any idea of how to do this improvement ?

Mike do you think this improvement will be in the next models that you will sell ?

Thank you
Jean-Philippe

My LG is very stiff. Almost too stiff. My builder is going to soften it for mine. The springs used on the small doors are too soft so thy need to be replaced with stronger spring.

Dave. It looks like a harrier in flight. you will like it.

Now i´m working on the new molds for the nose, the complete new decal set ond some litte things.....

Hi all, I continue my tests, the Jetlegend T-12 Tubine is perfect for this plane, my CG is not perfect, I have moved the C.G about 2cm behind the factory location and I will test 2.5cm or 3cm. I think it will be perfect.

You can see my last Alpha video on youtube :

You can to find always my Alpha report on my web site : www.dauch.fr

We did fly more and moved the C.G 3cm back from the factory setting. It flies a lot better than before.

See that photo of the c.g market (factory setting). The new setting is 3cm behind that, but before the rear spar.
