I need a mini-jet engine and have been searching the web but have turned up very little information. I’ve found all the “how it works” and company/builder sites but only a few suppliers. Apparently I’m not looking in the right places.

Where are you guys getting them from? Who’s making good ones reasonably priced? Who’s making the best ones?

Can I get some manufactures names and possibly some links where one could order from?

I’m looking for something around 17 lbs of thrust and at around or under $1000.

At that price you will need to find something used, here or e-bay. I would suggest a used RAM 750F or a used JetCat P-80. Both very reliable and put out 17 lbs.

Any new 17lb (80 Newton) thrust engine will cost you more than twice your stated budget.
It might be possible to find an older (used) air start engine that can be had for something close to what you are hoping for, but you will also need to purchase a scuba tank and regulator in order to start it.
You might want to look into a kit built engine with onboard electric start.

Depending on what I find, I'll prolly pick up a few. I have a few projects in mind that I care not reveal what I’m up to until I’m well under way with those. I’ll keep you up to date.

Worst care scenario, I waste a bunch of money. It wouldn’t be the first time.
