You need the look-down AbatuF ZM81 mirror, ref. N° 97766994-87, with this set. Never miss a beat on your display screen with all these live telemetry informations nowadays !

Add the character "L" to the reference number for mode 1 when making your order to Futaba, and character "R" for mode 2. (Model type "L" depicted on the above)

Tilt mirror 45° for correct use

The charger that comes with the 18MZ is according to the sticker on it, just a 12VDC, 2.5Amp supply (the charger must be inside the transmitter, makes also sense since the battery is a LiPo, so must be some kind of balancing circuit too)
Do any of you know if it is possible to get a simple cable with the charger connector in one end, and if it is possible just to supply the radio with 12VDC (for example at the field) ?

Hi, i did not. I have "allways" used JR (the last one was 12X)radio's, and the 14MZ was like having a brick in your hands. The 18Mz is closer a JR radio in your hands, with Futaba program. A great combination! Will take som time to get used to the "reversed" screen though.....

Hi,

Here are some pics of the 14 and 18 side by side model transfer was a breeze (luckily I was able to do it without using a mirror). Surprised to see the 18 a bit lighter than the 14. Nice that they relocated the neckstrap eyelet so no adapter is needed to balance it.

Guys,
Can the 18 be charged by a field charger or only by the supplied mains charger?

Martin, the answer is yes, the radio operates through a standard balance plug.

Mart,
I would guess so, the mains "charger" is just labelled as a 12 VDC 2.5 Amp powersupply, so guess all the charging/balancing circuits are internal in the transmitter.
Now just to find the DC connector as a seperate item....

I have just completed moving 4 of my jets to the 18MZ from my 14MZ and weatronic, everything went without any hickups at all
In my Eurosport, Sprint and Ultra Flash I have changed from Weatronic Micro12 receivers to 6014 receivers, not a single touch on any trim, noting at all!
On my big Futura, moved from a Weatronic 12-22 to a Powerbox Competetion SRS and 2 pcs 6203 receivers, also not a single touch on any trims etc.
Need to change a Weatronic 12-22 in my Ultra Lightning to the same powerbox/rx combo as in the Futura.

In all cases I just copied the model from the CF card from my 14MZ, and changed modulation to FASST.

Piece of cake!

BTW,
read some rumors that the software we have in the transmitters right now is of a "pre release" where not all features are avaialble, and that will be released by Robbe sometime in the future (telemetri especial) Or is this just a matter of the "normal update process"....
Anyone that knows any more of this ?

Hi Carsten! I made the same step(forward) as you.Changed from T14 Wea to T18,SRS and two receivers 6208.My T18 is from Robbe Germany and I received in just two hours my information. In Februari a Robbe-update will be available for all of us.The main content will be a software-update so,the transmitter will show a more complex telemetry information screen. Also in German language next to English just as the spoken Information in your ear.
The warranty period is extended to 36 months!!!
What was your motivation to go for the T18?

Best regards,

Erik.

Hi Erik,
thats good news! Ever since I held the 18MZ in my hands at JetPower last year, I have been dreaming about the 18 The speed of the menus, the touch screen and the brilliant display are all very nice. In the long run, I hope the SBUS2 protocol will be opened up (like Multiplex f.ex) so that it will be possible to interface other sensors to the system (I have a stall warning system and a interface for JetCat ECU's that I would like to monitor at some point).
For now I'm only using the non-telemetry receivers, I want to use some well proven equipment before I take the big jump

Can't say if it's the best, but Tower Hobbies distributes them here in the US.
