Maine Jet Rally on Sept 6 and 7th -- Who will be here?
Hey guys:
We are looking forward to having you join us for the Maine Jet Rally. I would like to get an idea of who is going to make it again this year for planning purposes (seating, lobster/steak planning, . Chime in if you are going to make it.
We have some great stuff planned for this year -- some of which I can reveal. David Shulman will be coming up and showcasing BV's new KingCat. I am also pleased to announce that well known airshow performer Dan McCue will attend. Dan was recently featured in Smithsonian's Air & Space Magazine as the person who pioneered bringing the L39 to the U.S.
This year we will be charging the public admission and donating all proceeds to a local charity called Camp Sunshine. Camp Sunshine is a summer camp whose mission is to address the impact of a critical illness on every member of the immediate_ family.

Hi Antony,
I will be up Friday, plan on steak for me. I'm not sure if Alyce is coming but if she does it will be the lure of Lobster that will get her there!!! Planning on bringing the DC-10. Thanks in advance for all your efforts. Scott

Glad to see such a worthwhile cause.
Where exactly will the event be located?

Great
Great to hear all of you guys chime in! We are looking forward to having you.
In answer to questions and comments by order:
David -- can't wait to see you hot doggin' it again. We will have you turning and burning by Friday!
Burt -- The event will be held at the Biddeford Municipal Airport in Biddeford, Maine. B19 on the New York sectional for you full scale pilots.
Jim -- Look forward to having you as always. Sorry to hear about your Aeromachi. I lost my Ultra Viper yesterday. It was completely destroyed :-( I am still in shock. Too many hours in that plane to lose it on the first flight. It was flying so well too -- damn!
Chris -- Yup, B19 will be closed and a NOTAM issued to such effect, so if you are flying, please plan on arriving before 9 on Saturday or better yet on Friday so that you don't interrupt flight ops.
Mr. Davis -- Looking forward to having you both join us. PMd you on a related issue.
Jorge -- Great to hear of your arrival on Friday. We will set up on Thursday/Friday so that we can squeeze in some flying on Friday. Hangar storage is available for those big birds of yours.
Derrek -- electric jets are definitely welcome. You can register on-line at www.icommercesystems.com/mainejets or you can register on Saturday morning.
Vinny -- Don't forget to bring Glen and Patty. Tell her that pregnancy is no excuse to not come to Maine!
Bob -- I am not exactly sure how far we are from Rhode Island since I have had very different trips to your lovely state. It has taken me 3 hours to Newport and it has taken me 8 hours to Newport. Of course the latter was when I was stupid enough to take 95 through Boston on a Friday evening and the former was when I was in a hurry to get home :-)
Scott -- you had better bring both Alyce and the DC 10. Make sure you bring that behemoth trailer of yours too so that we can all drool.
We are looking forward to this event and to having you all up. The only thing that would have made it better is if I still had a plane to fly with you :-( I have come to the conclusion that a higher power does not want that to happen.

Hey Joe -- don't forget a case of Double Chocolate Chip. As you can tell by my girlish figure I love the stuff. (Jusk kidding -- just bring yourselves and your planes).

Maine destinations
Folks:
It seems that many of you are interested in extending your stay in Maine beyond the jet rally. I am very pleased that you are doing this. You may want to visit the following web site to help plan your trip:
www.visitmaine.com
This is probably the best season in Maine since the weather is still great and many of the tourists have left. There will be significantly reduced traffic on the roads, the beaches, the hotels/bed and breakfasts, and in the national parks so enjoy!
If anyone wants recommendations on places to stay or visit, let me know.

I would like to know if you can tell me if John Glezellis will be there this year again with his 40% extra for the noon time show? Kelly

John Glezellis
Kelly:
John has just recently started working for Horizon and although we did our best to get him here (Ray called in favors owed by Horizon), he is obligated to attend a trade show on Horizon's behalf.
We are planning on having another aerobatic performer with his Composite Arf Yak fly for us, David Shulman is going to wring out the King Cat for us, Wes Blake will fly his heli routine and then we have a couple of surprises.
It will be good fun.
