BVM retracts question

My Feedback: (5)
Anyone have a method of taking the side to side 'slop' out.
These are the normal sport style BVMs in a Sabre with Duro-
Struts. This appears to be a total of 1/16" side-to-side between
the housing and the main rotating mechanism.
Thanks in advance.

Th only way I know to get the side play out of the retracts is to shim the axle with a nylon washer then replace the snap ring.
Some retracts have a set screw to secure the axle on the retract strut. If that is the case file a flat spot a little wider and take the slop out that way.

Hi W.G., I built a couple of Sabres with the newer aluminum side frames, and it took out all the slop. I modified the gear to take the short air cylinders from BVM, and used a UPC valve to sequence them. If you want to go to air, I can help you on the mod. Is this a turbine conversion or DF? The air sure beats the heck out of the old servo wheel cutting marathon. Bill Harris
