UJ, thanks for the great shots. You sure capture them well. Appreciate all the hard work you put into it. It's great to see all the great planes there.

Craig, the 58 did not fly but there's still hope for today. Lots of cool looking scale jets. As far as sport jets, Scott Marr's Futura was a show stopper.
It's been a great event and you couldn't ask for any better flying conditions, 80 degrees and very llittle wind.

Great day at the field today. Chris Balling and company made sure we were all having a good time. Speedworld always attracts lots of spectators.
One new item for this event, spectator tours. Pilots took turns taking
people through the pits to get up close and ask questions. I really enjoyed being a tour guide.

Just got home. Great show! Thanks to Chris Balling and Co for putting on a top shelf event. It was great to see everybody again. I also made some new friends from across the pond,,, Jonathan and Noel... These guys were able to log 60 sorties with the help of the super tool box. Have a safe trip home fellas..
Special thanks to Tony "team" Quist for the accommodations... Good fun as usual.
Bob Wilcox for his usual TOP SHELF assistance.
Scott Marr,,,, Sweet fleet and good seeing you again.
See you all at the next one.

A very big thank you to everybody at Desert Storm 2012.
To all the new friends that we met, not forgetting some specials ones that helped us have a great time. David Searles, Bob Covish, Garry for the springs and last but not least honorary "Brit" Doug Anderson.
To Chris and all at Speed Word RC thank you for putting on such a great event and of course ordering good weather.
Will we be back, well we do hope so.
Jonathan and Noel.

Desert Jet Storm 2012 was awesome. A big thank you to Chris and Carole Balling and all the helpers for all their hard work. It was a great event for pilots and spectators alike. I loved the Tribute to America flight of the Sabre Dog (Greg Moore), Super Sabre (Dan Avilla), F-4 (Brian O'Meara), F-16 (Jeff Tolemeo), and F-22 (Barry Hou) with Kate Smith singing God Bless America. The tours of the pits was a great idea (rather than shutting down the flightline) and I'm sure the spectators enjoyed the personal tours and info from their pilot tour-guides.
I had a blast hanging out with everyone especially Brian/Bonnie, Jonathan/Noel, Shaz, Bob Wilcox, Dave Phillips, George Manning, Chad/Paul/Dave/Jakester, David Searles (sorry, but I remembered to retrieve the margarita bottles out of your cooler), Ron "Skinny Baller" Long, Joe C, Dougie, Tony/Ray, and the Tucson Jet Chicks (Nancy thanks you for the warm welcome). L.P. even put in a flight of the Mirage F-1 Surrender Jet with a butter landing and kept the plane on the runway during rollout. Clearly more practice is required. The B-58 wasn't flight ready so it remained on the ground. It will take to the air soon enough. Paul Judice took delivery of his long-awaited Ultra Lightning so my workshop now has some extra room and I can get cracking on the Hustler and an Airworld Gripen for Kentucky.
Regards,
Jim
Hollywood, thanks so much for the loan of the truck. It really made getting the fleet to/from the event so much easier. Clearly a trailer is in my very near future!
