Default Jet Cat Smoke Pump Fix

Guys,

The boy has a Jet Cat smoke pump in his bandit and it has gone tango uniform. I was talking to some jet heads at the last event (BITW) and i believe that someone said that they are famous for burning out and that its the circuit board on the pump that goes bad. They also said something about a quick home brew repair that gets them going again. I am heading out the DJS tomorrow and the kid is begging me to fix his smoke system. I dont have a lot of time and my only option is to fix the one I have.....

Anyone have any home brew, super secret, on the fly, wow that was easy fixes for a JC smoke pump?

Thanks!

Just use a 20 amp or larger brushed motor esc. Solder it to the terminals of the motor, plug it in the rx and go fly. I have a esc he can use for the weekend if you cant find one.

There are 2 set screws in the housing that allow the assembly to come apart.

That's what I would do. Use a brushed type speed control and do some mixing in your Tx to get the pump flows right for given throttle settings. In fact, I have built my own smoke systems for less then half the cost this way. Made my own nozzles with stainless tubing and used a standard pump.
