Default Diesel

So what's going to happen to a Jetcat P-20 P-120, Munts K90 K140 or Wren SS turbines if I run them on diesel & 5% oil ?

probably nothing, kero and diesel are not that different in fact some makes say you can run them on diesel, i wish they all did it finding fuel would be a lot easyer.
just not been brave enough to try it myself

We are trying Diesel in alot of diffrent engines, they do run fine. K170 Kerostart works great, even the little Lambert Kolibri(9oz engine) runs perfect on Diesel. Only noticable diffrence is a bit of white smoke when shutting down.

I tried it in one of my Wren MKIII and it worked fine. I also run it in my Kingtech's.

I see no reason why any model turbine wont run on diesel the $64,000 question is what is the long term effect on running diesel in a engine not made to do so. Just
to be clear i'm not refering to Kingtech because they are made to run diesel.

I tried bio diesel and wasnt really happy with it.  Diesel also makes a stickier mess than Kero/JetA when spilled.  <div>

They will all run rough! The P-20 will be the worst, will also run for least amount of time before the sooty Diesel cloggs the tiny needles with carbon deposits, the pump Diesel also has other additives for car use...JetCat for sure will offer no warrantee...
The combustion chamber needs to be re designed, fuel needles filters all need changes.

My Wren ran perfect at 5448 ft with Diesel. I can fix it my self if needed, but I think it will be ok with the ULS Diesel in the states.

Then Jetcat needs to do just that. No big deal. Keep up to date.

Nope Diesel is $9.24 a US (3.9ltr) Gallon....
Highest grade Parafin, no smell or mess is cheaper...

But you only need half the oil, if any in Diesel...

I'm with you Dave, although we can run multi fuel if required in full size military aviation it's not the fuel of choice.

From what I hear most engines rundiesel just fine not rough at all but it's the long term use and how it will effect relaiblty that is the concern.

There's no reliability nor long term effect to be concern about with KingTech turbines running on Diesel. Today's Ultra Low Sulpher pump Diesel we have around the corner is a fantastic alternative fuel for our engines other than Kerosene, in fact, Diesel mixed with 3 to 5% oil is all we use.

Personally, I grew up on a farm and the last thing I want my jets to smell like is a John Deere! Lol

For me, there's a major difference between a piston driven John Deer burning Diesel versus turbine burning Diesel.
However, sense of smell is highly subjective, and personally I think Jet A is [:'(] of all.

Barry please read post #8 in this discussion. So far no one has said anything negtive about Kingtech or their ability to run diesel.

No worries and thank you Ira d, I only thought it was appropriate to express that there's no concerns with KingTech on this subject is all.

I don't remember what Europe's standards are, but diesel is NOT "dirtier" than Kero here in the US. It is, in fact, cleaner.

Guys out at the field are always very surprised when I tell them that have been burning diesel for a year and a half. My jets don't smell any different than the other guys using kero.
There is a big difference between the diesel of several years ago and the low sulfur diesel at the pumps today (at least here in the US)
