I'm hoping someone can tell me the difference between a BVM EVF 5612 and a BVM EVF 3 12s??? Do they require different packs, What ESC, pounds of thrust etc...I found a new 5612 I can get rather cheap, but want to know if I should go newer..I would appreciate any responses..

Erik the 5612 is based around the Neu 1500 series motor. The EVF 3 is based around the 1900 series motor which are more efficient and produce a more thrust at the same input power. The unique thing about the EVF 3 is that the center body of the fan is also the motor case so they run cooler. THe EVF 3 works much better in the scale ships due to better cooling than the 5612.

If the 5612 is less than 75% the cost of the EVF3 I'd buy it. If you are going to pay more than that I'd buy the EVF3.

I was going to put it in an Electra and was going to go with the 10s setup..I found someone with a new, never used 5612 complete for around 700.00..Is this going to be that much more power than a new 10s from BVM?? Just trying to wiegh out everything. Packs are cheaper for a 10s..

The 5612 is a 12 cell setup so it has a lower kV motor. It will work fine though.

I meant I was going with a new 10S set up from BVM until I found this 12s setup rather cheap..Was wondering if it is that much more thrust , the 5612 to a new 10s set up..I was trying to find some technical data on the 5612 and couldnt seem to find any..I appreciate your help Mr. Belluomini

The 5612 on 12S would have more power for certain. On 10S it would be comparable or maybe slightly less than a EVF 2 10S.

10S 4100 watts 12S 5100 watts big difference!

The 10S Electra's are the way to go for all around performance.

It all depends on how you fly.

The 10cell set up makes charging a simple task. Also you its lighter with less wing loading. It has plenty of speed for most people.

The 12 cell set up has more top end speed. Me personaly I love the 12 cell set up. I also have the 5612 and its been rock solid for several years now for me. I did eat an ESC but thats the only problem I have had with it.

electra on 12 cell with 5612 is going to be around 185 mph straight and level.
electra on EVF2 10 cells is probably going to be around 175 mph straight and level.
