Not sure if anyone can help but Its worth a shot.Upgraded to a dx18gen2 and while setting up control sufaces I have selected two alerion and two flap wing type one channel for each.So gear channel disappears and is now aux5 and brakes are aux4.Everything works normally gear up gear down and brake activates. But when i move flight control surfaces the brake valve clicks and gives a short hiss.I have no mixes programed and servo monitor shows only the servos moving nothing else .Not sure whats activating the digital valve??

Received my replacement airframe today in the Canada scheme. Interestingly it came with the 2X 1500ml fuel tank set up instead of the new single tank. Fine with me as my setup is a single 1500 and two saddle tanks. We've been grounded here by weather and snow on the runway for the last 4 weeks or so and more snow forecast for Friday. But at least I have a build project now!

HI Greg, That's a really nice looking paint scheme. It actually looks better than that of the original CT-114. Are you going to put lights on it? Should look cool in the air. Good luck with the build and come down here in the first week of February for the Coachella Jet Rally.

Hoping runway is clear to fly this weekend. I won't have the Viper up though.

Must be warmer in Co, over here in NE is like sub freezing temps with a nasty windchill
Yep, nice field but might be a bit far, especially since I use my wife's SUV to transport my planes. Disappearing with it for a week would not go over well We have two jet meets scheduled this year at our field outside Fort Collins. We usually get 10 - 20 fliers and a fair number of spectators.

Guys, I could use a bit of advice, something I haven't run into before. When I went to install my engine last night, I noticed that the outside wall of the double wall pipe was touching the rear fuselage bulkhead, the one just ahead of the horizontal stab. Light contact over about 3/4"/ 20 mm of the bulkhead opening circumference. No contact to the inner pipe - looking between the inner and outer walls there is good clear air space.
How much of a concern is that? Not clear why at first glance - the bellmouth is tight against both of the engine mounting rails, and things are reasonably centered at both ends of the pipe. My general thought would be to keep anything flammable from getting near or touching event the outer wall. Of course it does touch the three spacer blocks at the tail.
Appreciate your thoughts on this ...
Thanks,
Greg

took a pic, actually a lot easier to see this way than with my eyes (this viper has the new large bellmouth). Looks like part of the issue may be that the rudder post is hitting and flattening the top of the pipe, that's easy to fix. Regardless, you wouldn't be concerned with this type of contact on the outer wall?
Thanks,
Greg

Hi 76Mustang, I am using a GI Jane Heli pilot in my viper. Her specs say she is 12 in but she is about 1 in shorter than the Gi Joe that is 12 in. She fits nicely if you take out the top part of the seat for her bum to go in. I bought mine from Ebay USA for about $50 posted to Australia.

I switched from the red tips that came with the Canada scheme to the white wing tips from my original Ferrari airframe. I don't think they look quite as good on the ground, but it does improve visibility a bit for me in the air.
By the way, a lot of complements at the field on the way this plane looks in this scheme.

She flies great - my favorite is back Only needed 2 clicks of up trim and she was straight and smooth. There is a reason that I built another JL Viper rather than doing something different!
We had snow on the runway from about the 2nd week of December until mid-February, which is unusual here. Then the high winds hit. But it's been pretty nice the last couple of weeks. Highs around 55F/14C.

Just starting to check mine over ready for her maiden (been flown before but new to me). Seem to have a lot of play in the front retract. Is this normal as the model has not done many flights?
Cheers,
Simon

How do you mean "play"? My gear has about 50 flights and the pin which rotates to allow the nose gear to steer is a bit looser than I would like in the retract. Not causing any issues though. The actual retract mechanism is solid with very little play.

I can rock the leg backwards and forwards by a fair amount. Not removed it yet but I can't see how anything has been worn as the model has done little flying. Will get some air in the system and check again.
