No problemo.
I have been flying my pre release copy a lot including yesterday in 20mph winds...amazed how well it copes! Set the battery as far back as possible in the slot, long slow rolls need a lot of rudder, inverted just a little elevator. Its brilliant!

I ordered mine the first day that they were posted on the web-site. I checked a couple weeks ago and it appeared that my backorder was cancelled. At first, it bothered me but I reasoned that it is too hot this time of year to fly it anyway...........So I got back from a trip Saturday and the box was sitting here waiting for me..........I test flew it on the street in front of my house at 6 am Sunday morning. What a blast! Since then, I have done flight demos in the neighborhood at 105 degrees and it performs great....even in the heat of the day. I found that the ailerons are just right at 85% on dual rate. 100% is super fast and 70% (recommended in the manual) is too slow.
For those unfamiliar with the UMX stuff, be sure to follow the instruction book regarding flight trim. Fly it and set the trims. After the flight, note the surface positions, reset the trims to neutral and bend the push-rods accordingly. They fly much better that way. Apparently it allows the AS3X stabilization to work properly. Next, I plan on removing the gear and flying off the golf course..............
Now when will the "P-120 size" AS3X system going to be available?[:-]

Flies much better without the gear, visibly quicker and cleaner on the controls. I've landed on hard surface with the gear out, you can land with almost no forward speed and hardly a mark!

RE: New Toy UMX Mig15
I picked mine up Sunday at closing time from the local H S, Ordered since Fa jets. Was amazed it has a steerable nose gear, all ready to go out of the box. Bound it to my DX18 in 5 min and put 3 flights on it Monday. Should have gotten a spare battery. Had three Swallows chaseing it at the club field. They gave up as they couldn't keep up with it. I was laughing the whole time. Great fun.

I won a "PowerBox Systems Gmbh" Three axis gyro system with a GPS sensor at Jets over the Heartland pilots drawing, that should do the same thing Now if I can find room for it in my 1/8th F-16.........................

RE: New Toy UMX Mig15
Micro MiG drivers,
Yesterday, I collect my UMXMiG from my LHS and quickly scanned the instructions. This morning, I bought it to my local grass flying field and preceded to follow instructions, starting with the LiPo battery charging. Named the model in my x9303 and reviewed the binding instructions from the TX manual. The blinking green light on the charger informed me that the LiPo was charged and MiG ready for flight. Binding and a preflightcontrol check took about a minute and I was RTF. I'm not that good at hand launching and none of the other club members wanted to try it either. One member suggested turning one of the field flight benches into the prevailing 10K wind and doing a wheels takeoff, carrier style. He held the MiG by the tail while I spooled up to full power when he released. The little bugger rolled the lenght of the bench, about 5', and lterally flew right off the boards. I was amazed at the stability, even in a 10K gusty wind, and performed Figure 8s, followed by loops and rolls. All maneuvers done in the specified rates with about 25% expo dialed in. After several minutes of pure fun I brought the MiG in for a soft landing on the runway. Thefield had not been mowed and I was unable to taxi back. Everyone was amazed at the flight performance and Horizon, (and Dave Payne) really did their homework on this little micro MiG. I plan to purchase another LiPo for additional flying fun and look foward to some air-to-air withsome micro Sabres at Horizon's Air Meet in Sept. A lot of fun in a small package!

Got a couple flights on mine with about a dozen touch and goes. If you keep power up on landing (when it's windy) it is pretty locked until flare. This thing is fun!

Myself and a clubmate were at the field today with our Mig's and the Greatplanes Sabre, we were trying a bit of formation before doing battle and a club member took some good photos.

RE: New Toy UMX Mig15
A quick random question, can anyone give me rough dimensions of the box it comes in?
What is your opinion of the Mig now that it has been out for a little while?
I have 2 UMX models; the Beast and the Cub. The Beast is awesome but I'm not that impressed with the Cub. I'm thinking of buying a Mig but the Cub has put me off UMX models a bit.

Fun to fly especially if two or three are flying at the same time and start chasing each other. At KY jets two were chasing each other and had a mid-air, one kept going and the other hit the ground, he went over picked it up and away it goes back to the chase. Too funny. IMO, fly without the gear.
