JMP Accumulator question..?
Hi all,
Just finished my first flights with the JMP accumulator in place of my leaking UAT. Filled, purged and flew - all good.
I have a small bubble in the line that goes from the header to the accumulator. NONE in line to pump. While running I did not notice any in either line I just see this after shutdown. Since the accumulator is installed as Tom told me directly, I think the install is fine - it is 45 degrees inclined with the line from header to the accum. at the highest point - so I presume the small bubble here is exactly where it might be if there is any air.
When I fill, after full, I drain for a few seconds and this eliminates the small bubble ( (1/2inch length dry segment of 3/16 ID tygon).
So does this sound usual to those that use this device. The plane ran flawlessly , inverted, vertical, looping, rolling...
Thanks
Dave

RE: JMP Accumulator question..?
Dave,
I have one in my firebird, and it works flawlessly. It sounds like yours is doing it's job.As it purges any incoming air, that is trapped in the accumulator. When you stop running(pumping fuel through it),that air is escaping back towards the header tank side.As long as it doesn't show on the output/pump side of the accumulator,it's working properly.hope this helps,
Erik
