Elvington Jet meet
After what feels likes months of rubbish weather, it finally looks like we might get a dry and calm weekend. Even better to hear that there is a jet event on then! It's been a fair few years since I have flown at Elvington, so I am really looking forward to heading up there this Saturday and Sunday. I just need to decide what to take now, and start loading tomorrow for the drive up Saturday morning. Who else is attending, and what are you planning to bring along?
Look forward to seeing you all there.
Regards Al
Weather from XC. Looks more than decent to me!

RE: Elvington Jet meet
Yep, finally looking like we are going to get some decent weather. I will be there both days. Taking the same old models, my Ultra Lightning and Hunter.
I start loading up tonight as I am travelling up tomorrow evening straight from work.
Elvington is a great place to fly.
I see from another thread you are going to take the new A10? Looking forward to seeing that fly.
Geoff.
EDIT: Forgot the eflite Mig15 as we need a bit of MIG combat action.

Hey Geoff,
I told you.. I will happily take the hunter out of your way if you are getting bored with the same old same old Funny. The A-10 getting loaded depended on wether or not your were in attendance ( Tony Hooper nominated you to supervise the LMA sheet on the test flights ) Hope thats ok?
So far I have the A-10
Ultra Flash
I can't decide if I should take the Mirage or T-33 ( We have Marham soon so might wait till then for one of them )
Big Futura
Mig 15
Sia Marchetti turbo prop
Maybe the Starjet as it has not flown in a while
Turbine glider ( probably not )
Venom
One too many sport jets me thinks so might have to leave one at home.. Although its a toughie as I find it hard being at a jet meet and not having a Futura or my Ultra Flash...

Starting out tomorrow morning and going to have a bit of a road trip and stop in a few places on the way just to break up the 242 mile journey. Just taking the Bobcat and Bandit as the Hunter is not complete. E-flite Migs are a must as it is looking like Mig combat weather on Saturday morning! we had a great time with them at Long Marston, i think we had 6 or 7 in the air and jetrebel was giving it death!!

Ahhh I forgot about the little E elite Mig.. I will load it inside the BVM Mig 15 that way I won't forget. I will also bring a couple from stock for spares as well ( Sounds like we might need them ) Funny that the Ginger rebel liked his so much... Someone told him a while back that he needed one, and he poo poo'ed them at the time!
Thanks Geoff. I have the forms.

RE: Elvington Jet meet
Im absolutely gutted to be honest, Ive booked a holiday and leave on Saturday [] With the weather performing like it has for the last few months I didnt think Id be missing much, although my flight doesnt leave until 15:20 on Saturday so Im thinking maybe a few early morning flights and home by 1 ish Glad to hear that you'll be displaying the usual great collection of models Al, but as for the decision between the two, please leave your UF at home so my Classic Flash doesnt look like its rubber band powered
Itl be good to see some of your expert flying skills again Geoff, even if it is only for half a morning
Looking forward to it, almost as much as I am going on holiday to be honest, I wonder if the other half could Check Us in and Il meet her in Departures a little later
My decision of what to take is a little more straight forward Al...........CARF Flash and my ermmm Transmitter Case, Kero, Charger and my moronic Hat

Get talking to the airline and change the flight till the next day.. or better still Monday! Send the Doris out ahead on the booked flight and she can check in at the hotel and have everything ready for your arrival on Sunday or Monday... Job Done!

RE: Elvington Jet meet
After spending the the last month in the Gulf with the big stuff I'm looking forward to flying in some cooler weather....sunshine every day definately gets tedious after a while Will just be bringing the "feel at home straight away" UF to wring out again.
Will be good to see all the pro's flying again over the weekend, promise of good weather should hopefully give us a good turnout and remember...no crosswind at Elvington!
For some strange reason I've been getting the hots for of all things a Turbinator lately, been looking for a practice hack for some time and just can't bring myself to go the Boomerang route.

Let me know, as they are in stock and I can load one into the bottom shelf of the van for you Rob!
I hear you on wanting to fly in the cooler temps. 100+ and over 95% Humidity last week for a day was enough. Every one in Kentucky jets looked at me funny when it started to rain and I prepped to go fly! [&:]

Ali,
Yes! Theres a travelodge at tadcaster on the A64. Its south west of Yprk and its a 15 minute drive from the airfield. On the other side of the carriageway there is a premier travel inn almost dead opposite.
Jamie and myself are in the travelodge tomorrow and saturday. Prefer the premier travel inn but there was no availability.
