Hey,

Anyone seen "Flight" yet? Saw it tonight. It was pretty intense. Aside from some pretty amazing acting, it wasn't as technically ridiculous as most air disaster movies. Everything looked CG, so I don't think there was any RC component to the film. Thoughts?

Give some credit to one of my fellow MD-80 pilot simulator instructors at Delta. A lot of the movie was filmed here in Atlanta and my friend was a "technical advisor" to the film crew. He worked with Denzel extensively in the simulator and on the set to help him act like a "real" pilot.

FYI, my friend mentioned that Denzel was a super nice and "regular" guy to work with. I need to go see the movie and see if my friends name shows up on the long list of credits they show at the end.

Yeah, I said the same thing and showed the Animated video to the wife, she didn't know how I could relate the movie to the real thing. I just stated the actual cause of the elevator failure was all I was relating.

NOT a Jet video, but also pretty amazing that nobody was seriously hurt. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012...op-of-suv?lite

Hi,

The cinema was full when I saw it, and it was absolutely pin-drop silent in there during the cockpit scenes. I was familiar with the Alaska incident, and it was on my mind while I was watching, and it made the scene a little hard (emotional) to watch. It always seems like when you hear the real black box recordings, there's always one crew member whose voice is so calm it's surreal. They really captured that in the film.
