I saw they built a replica and tested the stealth capabilities and I see that there is a place looking for cash to start the restoration. Other sites look like they are working on parts. I hope they get her back together. I'd love to see her fly. Loos like another place is working on a scale flying model. http://www.aerosente.com/the-horten-project.html. Had some plans but I don't know how far they have come. We were lucky to have hitter at the helm for WW II. If properly managed we may have had to face some very advanced weaponry. Has anyone heard any plans of looking at the Horten 18 Amerika Bomber???

Chuck,
the smithsonian has begun working on preservation of the 229. The outer wing panels were in the new restoration shop at the hazey center in washington DC 2 years ago, so i suspect within the decade that airframe will be on display.
My horten has come under new ownership and currently resides in California. I have ambitions to do another after the 1/4 TA-152H and the F14 project are complete. If the Horten comes back up, it will probably end up with a pair of turbines.

That's great. Gives me another reason to get to the Smithsonian. I'll have to keep an eye on their site.
Good of luck with your other projects. I still think that the 14 was one of the badest birds in history. She has fond memories as a retired Navy man. I would love to see someone do her justice. Keep me updated, I look forward to seeing her.
