Default The Aurora Project Announced

ModellbauUK are proud to announce the release of the brand new Aurora 2.4m Sports Jet to the UK & Europe.

Using cutting edge fully composite design and construction we have introduced a superb flying stable model to the market. Flight tested extensively with 160N turbines. Flight testing with 200N turbines to follow but we do not anticipate any issues with this turbine so for now we are limiting the turbine to 160N.

UK test flying of the model detailed in the following photos, the Breitling Scheme to commence now we have one in the UK and the turbine of choice is the Jets Munt Merlin 160. Timing couldn't be better with the likely introduction of the Merlin 200 hopefully early next year as this will be dropped into the model once we've put the model through it's paces in the UK

Test Pilot: Jamie Cuff
Any other volunteers?

Not only is the model stunning but the colour coordinated travel boxes ensure that the model arrives at your flying strip unscathed. These cases can also be used for world travel as ours arrived on Tuesday via British Airways Cargo with only one small mark on the box. The model can be packed away into the box intact with the entire installation, retracts retracted of course.

<o></o>

Retracts designed specifically for the model are available.

Custom made tailpipe

Custom made Kevlar tanks by FCT are in UK production at the moment.

Hopefully we have the model flown and ready for Classic Jets on 28th Dec at RAF Abingdon

<o></o>Specification:<o></o>

Wingspan<o></o>

96” (2.44m)<o></o>

Fuselage Length<o></o>

107” (2.70m)<o></o>

Flying Weight<o></o>

35Ib (16 Kg)<o></o>

Turbine<o></o>

I hope you all like the model and I'm sure it will be very popular worldwide.

Thank you to all the distributors who have already been in contact showing interest in stocking the model in their countries

Ian

The obvious question is how much for that little lot and also how much without the travel box ?

Price is going to be around £2600 + carriage obviously

Retracts about £700 and tail pipe about £140. All factory fitted.

We are looking at providing a fully installed service but quite often flyers prefer to do their own install using their favourite RC gear, turbine, servos etc. The service is available if anyone wants it

The cases are included in the price.

We have brought to the market the first large quality jet at an affordable cost effective price.

Plus it looks well cool.

I've been following this project for about a year now. Glad to see it has finally been released. It has some lovely ideas and the finish is great.

Ian, are you offering the 8 schemes that were originall drawn up for it? I loved the Senna scheme!

Rgds

Ian will confirm but i am sure it is an option as well as a few others.

Agree with Mark on the Senna scheme, it does look good! i like the blue RAF scheme as well. I would quite like to see the old Marlboro/Mclaren scheme or even better still the black/gold JPS Lotus!

For a model of that size and completeness it is a very fair price.

Yes Jamie

Pretty cool colour schemes, sure we can look at the McClaren Scheme and JPS, any scheme is possible to special order

I am told that the plug was pulled by other interested parties and I was asked if I was interested in taking the project on so I stepped up to the mark.

Really glad I did as when you get the model on the stand the only word which springs to mind is WOW!!!

Proud to be part of the project, even at this late hour, and to be asked to get involved

That would be good Mark

I'll ask the factory regarding this scheme and also about a JPS Scheme

The Ford Scheme was discontinued too

Assuming the quality good it does look OK value for money.

Jamie Cuff is a legend on the UK jet Scene and he's defiantly the man to demo this model.

I'll look forward to seeing it a CJ.

Some great schemes here guys, nice to see some lateral thinking

Looking as the schemes is the plan to offer this with a clear canopy and cockpit as this really looks like a cool place to feature?

Best of luck with the project.

Those profile photos with the clear canopy look much better than the airbrushed canopies

A bit light on products but this will increase over the following weeks so please bare with us
Aurora will feature on there very soon
Off note is the Desire Power Batteries with the 75C discharge range being particularly impressive.

Seperate thread started on these

Canopies are fully composite clear. I'll take photos with Jason's request for internal structure photos

Anything is possible if the demand is there.

A clear canopy with cockpit detail would be cool.

Change the record Dennis!! We understand you only like buying cheap stuff. That's your choice.

Do me a favour btw, add up the cost of your 150 odd models you have RTF and let me know the figure.

Real smart looking Jet Ian, have a look at the feibao range of cockpits you might get one that will suit, will save having to start from scratch. Being a sport jet dosnt need to conform to a certain layout just be a nice looking interior.

Much better website design by the way.
